The current economic climate and the Covid 19 pandemic has drawn our focus to immediate needs closest to home. Now, more than ever, it is critical to keep acknowledging and be aware that we are part of an inter-connected, global community. With this awareness, comes the continued reality that many within our communities cannot meet their most basic needs of food, clean water, life-saving medical treatment, alongside mental and emotional well being. The global upheaval we are experiencing has shown us that we cannot proceed with business as usual. TEDxOysterbay 2021, took a step back and looked at the big picture: Why should we, as a society, continue to invest in our sustainable wellbeing and development? How can we work across borders, barriers and political boundaries to make positive change? And what returns can we expect on our investments? Featuring talks by some of Tanzania's most inspired thinkers and doers, we are looking at what changes have taken place around us, and what more needs to be done to ensure the health and well-being of future generations.
