Bringing new materials knowledge and thinking to those that innovate. I work at the coalface between education, innovation and commerce. My role is simple - look for clarity, make ideas easy to adopt and help, in small steps to encourage those that specify to take bigger steps towards adopting new ideas. I love seeing opportunity that those too close to their product or ideas have not seen and helping them to evolve. I am also keen to help brilliant young minds and ideas, see them turned into reality. It is not all about profit, for all the ideas that have been turned down as they were not profitable, some innovations that could genuinely help mankind, may have been lost.

I'm passionate about ensuring that both government and public support for scientific research and education is significantly increased.

Using person centered design as a starting point to address small and large challenges facing society. Current areas of interest in this regard are: 1) the transformation of the health care delivery system which must be person centered and involve communities as part of the solution; and 2) the support of the entrepreneurial spirit of startups to advance these efforts.
