The Unsaid: Things we feel, know, and carry, but never say out loud.

Took placeAugust 18, 20262:00 PM - 4:00 PM (GMT+5:30)
LocationMumbai, Maharashtra, India
FormatYouth
We live in a world where everyone is performing fine. Students walk into school carrying weight, pressure, fear, confusion, silent battles, and the cultural norm is to keep it hidden. TEDxCNS Mumbai Youth is built around one belief: that the most important conversations are the ones we are not having. This year's theme is The Unsaid, an invitation to give voice to what everyone privately feels but rarely speaks out loud. Through three distinct ideas, our speakers will explore the conversations hiding in plain sight: Personal Experience: The Silent Struggles of Growing Up The unspoken pressures, fears, and silent battles of student life. What happens when someone finally gives voice to what everyone around them has been feeling but nobody has been saying? Technology: What Nobody Is Saying About AI Not a debate about whether AI is good or bad, but an honest, personal reckoning with what it actually feels like to grow up alongside it. Students, teachers, and parents each carry a completely different experience of this moment in history. All of it deserves to be heard. Identity: Questioning Whose Life You Are Actually Living How much of who we are: our ambitions, our definitions of success, our sense of self, did we actually choose? And what happens when we start to question that?

  • Samit Mandhare

DP Student at Chatrabhuj Narsee School

Samit Mandhare is a grade 12 student at Chatrabhuj Narsee School, Mumbai. A dedicated footballer from a young age, the sport became far more than a game. It was the space where everything felt safe and free. Over several years, a series of serious injuries gradually took that space away, setting off a journey that went far deeper than the physical aspect. In his talk, he reflects honestly on what happens when the thing that holds you together is taken away from you, what silence does to us over time, and what it truly means to face yourself.

  • Shambhavi Pendke

DP student at Chatrabhuj Narsee School

Shambhavi Pendke is a Mumbai-based student, writer, and founder drawn to the intersection of finance, entrepreneurship, and social impact. She has won international awards, earned academic scholarships, founded her own venture, and led as a captain and national-level speaker, building a track record that, from the outside, looks like someone who has it all together. But those same experiences are exactly what taught her the pressure of always seeming fine while quietly carrying far too much. In her talk, "The Functioning Excuse," she reflects on the unspoken rule so many students live by: that our struggles don't count as long as we're still delivering, still smiling, still saying yes to more. Drawing on her own years of overachieving and hiding the weight of it, she offers an honest look at what that performance costs us, and what it means to finally say "this is a lot" out loud, while your hands are still full.
