Aaron Kim
Student
My name is Aaron Kim and I am a 5th grade student. I like to draw, and I like to snowboard during the winter. I have liked it since I was young. I especially like to do cool tricks, like a Frontside 180 or some grabs. I hope to become better as I grow. I love learning new things and having new opportunities.I enjoy IT and PE. I believe that we can be our better selves with the power of failure, and that is also what I’ll be talking about in my Ted Talk. I am going out in this Tedx Talk, and I will talk about “Our Growth after the Rain." In this Ted talk, I will talk about why failure can be so crucial for our growth, also comparing it to some of my own stories like trying to succeed a Frontside 180. I will try to explain why we shouldn’t run away from “rains,” and why we shouldn’t hold up our “umbrellas,” while comparing them to my own experiences. I hope others can get to know that we shouldn’t avoid failures, but we should actually take them in and be our best selves.
Audrey Cho
Student
Audrey Cho is an 11-year-old student living in Seoul, South Korea. She adopted her first gecko in the summer of 2024, and her love for geckos quickly grew. At one point, her family cared for more than one hundred geckos and became especially interested in three species: leopard geckos, crested geckos, and African fat-tailed geckos. Under her care, dozens of geckos have successfully hatched at her home. She currently raises more than twenty geckos, ranging from newborn hatchlings to adults. In her spare time, Audrey enjoys drawing and painting geckos. She dreams of becoming a veterinarian who specializes in reptiles, and she loves reading books about animals as she continues to pursue that dream. Through caring for these small creatures, Audrey has learned that love for animals comes with responsibility, patience, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Bella Jeong
Student
Bella Jeong is a fifth-grade student at BCC who has developed a deep love for reading and storytelling from a young age. She is especially drawn to fantasy literature, where imaginative worlds, magical creatures, and complex ideas inspire her creativity. Bella hopes to become an author one day and share meaningful stories with readers around the world. Bella believes that learning becomes more meaningful when it sparks curiosity and leads to deeper thinking. In her TEDx talk, “Not Faster, But Deeper!”, Bella reflects on her personal journey as a young writer in a world shaped by fast-moving technology and artificial intelligence. Through her experience, she explores the difference between speed and creativity, emphasizing that while technology can generate answers quickly, true imagination, emotion, and originality come from thoughtful and deliberate thinking. Bella hopes to inspire others to slow down, think deeply, and value their own unique ideas.

At school, my favorite subjects are biology and mathematics because they allow me to ask questions, discover patterns, and solve real-life problems. I am especially fascinated by animals and their unique characteristics. Watching documentaries and learning about different species around the world inspires my curiosity and reminds me how amazing living creatures can be. Spending time with my pets and family also helps me better understand responsibility, care, and connection. One of my favorite classes is speech because it allows me to share my ideas, express my thoughts, and connect with others. I believe that sharing stories and experiences can inspire people and help them see things in a new way. In my TEDx talk, After the Rain, I encourage students to see challenges and failures as opportunities for growth. My message is that even during difficult moments, there is always something to learn, and sometimes the brightest skies appear only after the rain.
Scarlett Moon
Student
Hello! This is Scarlett Moon, a 6th grade student at Saint Paul Preparatory School. I’m a risk-taker and an adventurer, and on my way to discover what I really want to do when I grow up. I was the “happy president” of BCC last year. Also, I’m a very hard-working and natural leader student as part of the student council and MUN (Model United Nations) school representative team now. Through lots of trials and failures, I achieved my goal of receiving both the Citizenship award and the Principle’s Honorable Mention award in middle school. In my TEDx speech, I’ll be introducing the turning point in my life, which eventually led to this whole journey. I hope you learn a lesson that there’s always a “rainbow” after the “rain” as you listen to my speech. Thank you!
Sean Jung
Student
My name is Sean Jung, and I enjoy exploring different areas of mathematics and discovering how math can help us understand and solve real-world problems. Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing the violin and practicing fencing, both of which have taught me discipline, focus, and perseverance. One book that recently inspired me is Animal Farm by George Orwell. It explores the idea of animalism and shows how power can sometimes lead to unfairness and control. This helped me think more deeply about leadership, equality, and the importance of making fair choices. It also made me reflect on how important it is to speak up when something is wrong and to treat others with respect. Using examples from nature, history, and my own personal experiences, I share how challenges can feel like “rainstorms” in our lives but they don’t last forever. I hope to encourage people to stay strong during difficult times and to keep moving forward, one small step at a time. Change is always possible.
