Bio
An actress, parent and grandparent, I am currently serving on the governing board of King Alfred School, London. I was born and educated in Glasgow, gaining a 1st class Honours MA in Psychology. I married actor Tom Conti in 1967 and we moved to London to pursue acting careers. For the past thirty years I have actively been involved in the life of King Alfred School, latterly as President of the Society which founded the school and which to this day is committed to promote educational research into what is best for the child.

I am passionate about progressive education and about children.
An idea worth spreading
Progressive education is still the answer, particularly in these dark days of too much exam pressure driving up levels of mental ill health, resulting in Britain's happiness rating being at an all time low.
The TED story
I've been inspired by many educationalists through TED, particularly Ken Robinson , whose mindset embodies all I feel about the purpose of education.
