Hi, my name is Haroon! I have been a part of TEDxSurreyUniversity since I've joined the University! I've helped organise a few events and salons and now I'm Operations Manager, in my final year.

always learning more about the world. I'm passionate about the world of aviation, building more efficient, safer flying machines. I'm passionate about giving people who want to express themselves a platform to do so.

Is one which will inspire, enthuse and encourage others to take positive and uplifting action.

Engineering

I joined as a fresher at the start of TEDxSurreyUniversity in 2013. Our first event was called Ideas Worth Spreading where we had talks from a lady who taught blind people photography, a lady worked with young inmates in Boston and a Palestinian teacher who manages her own football club. In my second year, we had a fantastic Science-themed salon called "Mind Over Matter", which had talks on Astrophysics, Science funding and teaching young people science. Our main event was called "Fast and Curious", a name I came up with! On placement, i bore witness to my favourite TEDxSurreyUniversity event, "Re-defining ordinary" where Dan Eley, a wheelchair-stricken superstar, amazed all with his story of Redefining happiness. In third year, we had three dazzling salon events, 'This Girl Can', 'University and Beyond', which I compered and 'Limitless'. Our main event called "Over the Edge" which had speakers from all over the spectrum: ex-inmates, classical musicians, youtubers, teachers and even an amazing student poet! This is my final year now and I'm hoping to go out with one last amazing hurrah!

music and drama...well, I'm Music and Drama President at the university! I enjoy it a lot and its been so much fun putting on shows.
