I am Sadia Mehmood Awan, a Psychology student with a strong interest in understanding human behavior, leadership, and social impact. I am passionate about exploring ideas that help people grow, empowering individuals and communities, and turning meaningful concepts into action. My experiences include academic learning, research interest in psychology, and involvement in student-led initiatives and event coordination.
Alongside my academic journey, I enjoy creative writing and entrepreneurship, and I am always looking for ways to learn, create, and contribute to something impactful. I believe in the power of ideas, storytelling, and collaboration to inspire positive change, and I aim to use my skills to build opportunities that benefit both individuals and society.
I'm passionate about
I'm passionate about understanding people and the ideas that shape their lives. As a psychology student, I am fascinated by human behavior, personal growth, and the ways individuals can overcome challenges and reach their potential. Beyond psychology, I am deeply interested in entrepreneurship, leadership, and creating meaningful projects that make a positive impact on society. I also enjoy creative expression through poetry and storytelling, as I believe stories have the power to inspire, connect, and drive change. Whether through research, community initiatives, business ventures, or creative work, I am motivated by curiosity, continuous learning, and the desire to contribute something meaningful to the world.

The TED story
My journey with TED began long before I became involved in organizing events. As a student, I regularly watched TED Talks and was inspired by the powerful ideas, personal stories, and innovative solutions shared on the TED stage. Those talks shaped the way I viewed leadership, creativity, and social impact.
An exciting opportunity came when my university hosted TEDxUniversityofWah. I joined the organizing team and served as the Speakers Lead, where I was responsible for identifying, approaching, and coordinating speakers for the event. Working closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds gave me valuable experience in communication, event management, and leadership.
Being part of TEDxUniversityofWah transformed my role from an audience member to an active contributor in spreading ideas worth sharing. This experience strengthened my passion for the TED community, and I now look forward to taking the next step in my journey by organizing a future TEDx event and creating a platform where inspiring voices can reach and impact others.
Things you might not know
People don't know that I'm good at seeing possibilities where others see limitations. I enjoy exploring new ideas, connecting concepts from different fields, and thinking about how they can be turned into something meaningful. Whether it's psychology, entrepreneurship, creative projects, research, or community initiatives, I'm naturally curious and often find myself planning, creating, and improving things.
I'm also good at learning independently. When something genuinely interests me, I can spend hours researching it, understanding it from different perspectives, and figuring out how to apply it in real life. I enjoy asking questions, challenging assumptions, and looking beyond surface-level answers.
Above all, I'm good at staying committed to my goals. Even when I don't have everything figured out, I keep searching for ways to grow, create opportunities, and make an impact.
