Bio

I'm currently a resident doctor that has been active in the TEDx scene in Hong Kong, and have been appreciated throughout my career, both with internal prizes and awards as well as external recognition with scholarships. My laurels, academic and beyond, have also been featured on the news - and I have been privileged to be able to represent the local ethnic minority population in Hong Kong in some capacity. I have been involved in community service with NGOs dedicated to the betterment of ethnic minority youths, and the underprivileged in general. I am known to have a wide network thanks to my social quotient, multi-faceted work, and of course educational background. I also have interned at a multinational pharmaceutical firm for five weeks, done graphics design work years ago, but am more geared towards working medical/clinical attachments in hospitals as I pivot my future more towards Medicine and my long-term career goals. Apart from that, I am very much interested in research, writing, speaking, and of course literally anything out there that I have yet to experience: I read poems and even rap occasionally, am totally looking to get into stand-up, and most definitely have a thing for anime, video games, board games, digital media production, drama, social science, philosophy, dance, psychology, psychoanalysis, geography, cartography, education, art, history, and of course art history. If I had a motto, it would be, if Nike says "Just Do It", I say "Just Did It" - and I hope that reflects my preference for efficient action on top of my respect for an open discussion. My heart, however, still thirsts for chasing my dreams: 1) becoming a competent medical doctor (currently aiming to become the best Orthopaedic surgeon I can be) to serve society, 2) learning one new thing every single day, and 3) making someone smile each and every day. It's really that simple, and I figure if I keep doing that day in and day out, I wouldn't have much to regret when my life reaches its most definitely untimely conclusion.

I'm passionate about

Absolutely everything in life. I'm one of those crazy-'bout-life people. I'm probably passionate about a great many things, hmmm, maybe except country music. But I'm sure I could warm up to that too - who doesn't love Johnny Cash. Or some Country Roads, Take Me Home.

An idea worth spreading

When you believe in a lie, doesn't that make the lie the truth? The world runs on perceptions, not reality. In most cases, that is.

The TED story

I've been a volunteer, ambassador, organiser, mentor and speaker at TEDx events around Hong Kong. My journey started in mid-2014, but I haven't looked back since, and I'm always going after the next plateau when I leave one behind me. Hit the climb with some grind.

Things you might not know

Sweet-talking, and table tennis. At least I think I'm somewhat good. Update, I'm officially rusty at table tennis. Maybe I'm good at a video game? Gotta figure that out.
