The TED story

I wasn’t always sure how I’d navigate this balance in life. As a Master’s candidate in Computer Science, I dove headfirst into AI, chatbot development, and human-computer interaction security—fields that demand relentless problem-solving and constant learning. At the same time, my work as a Child Online Protection Researcher exposed me to the urgent need for tech-driven solutions to keep children safe in digital spaces. Yet, my story doesn’t stop there. As a co-founder of MarBella Creative Concepts, I wear the hat of a digital designer, helping businesses visually communicate their purpose. I also host Live Intentionally with Ladymarsela, where I use storytelling to inspire others to pursue purposeful lives. And as a TEDxVinetaWomen Co-Organizer, I work behind the scenes to amplify voices that need to be heard. Balancing these worlds is no easy feat. There were moments when I questioned my ability to excel in all these roles. But Angela Duckworth’s TED Talk and her concept of grit resonated deeply with me. It taught me that success isn’t about talent alone—it’s about perseverance and passion, the ability to stay committed to a long-term vision while adapting to challenges. Grit has shown up for me in countless ways: late nights designing and conceptualising for projects and presentations, long hours crafting campaigns, and even in the vulnerability of sharing my journey through blogging and vlogging. It’s the belief that mastery isn’t about immediate perfection but consistent, intentional growth. I’ve learned that grit doesn’t mean doing everything at once. It means staying true to your purpose, mastering your passions one step at a time, and embracing the journey with unwavering determination. I hope my story inspires you to find your balance, fuel your grit, and walk your own life with confidence.
