Hearing the voices in our community that are not being heard or who do not have a platform. The power of including the gifts of all members of our community in creating the commonweal. The power of the arts to speak to all, regardless of training or socio-economic background. The value that our nonprofit organizations create for our community.

Born to a teacher-mother, since childhood I have a firm conviction that society is always in need of good human beings with ethical values and a determined commitment for nation building and its only a teacher who is bestowed with immense potential with all such humans. That’s how and why I have chosen this as an area of interest. I have been fortunate enough to work in DAV institutions like DAV Public School CSPUR, DAV Public School Burla, DAV Public School Talcher and DAV Public School, CDA Cuttack and now in DAV Public School Unit-8, Bhubaneswar as a teacher, administrator and principal. Till this point of my life, in different capacities, I have tried with utmost sincerity and honesty to touch lives of people/students and bring in them a desirable change in the greater interest of the people and the place around. With all humility, this is not out of place to mention here that along with many local honours, the Almighty has been gracious enough to crown me with coveted Mahatma Hansraj and CBSE Award to Teachers all of which I owe to success of my students and the institutions where I have served.

I am passionate about a number of things in life and I always try my utmost to be in touch with those. My first passion is cooking. Many of my childhood memories revolve around me helping my grandmothers roll out round 'luchis' or fry that fish cake. Cooking is an intuition, a reflex. All my measurements are done according to my intuition. A pinch of salt makes or breaks it. I am extremely passionate about anything Japanese. Japan has been close to my heart since the time I discovered Animax on cable Tv when I was 7. And even today, after all these years, it has not diminished one single bit. Also, I read mangas daily and it is something I simply cannot do without. Animal welfare is my mission in life. My vision in life. And one day, I will ensure a world full of happiness for these animals.
