Radha Gopalan
Radha Gopalan has had a long and successful career as an environment consultant for large organizations in India, the UK, the USA and the middle east. She believes in auditing her work and its meaningfulness once every four years, and some of those reflections caused a shift in her work: Currently based in Rishi Valley School, she is applying her long and deep interest in food security and sovereignty by engaged in with the community of small and marginal farmers who form the rural community in which the school is located.
Sakhi Nitin-Anita
Sakhi has decided to take her education seriously and hence does NOT go to college. She walked out of school at the age of 12 and is now a part of a community of learning-seekers at Swaraj University <www.swarajuniversity.org>, an innovative learning programme for youth. She is a staunch believer in gender equality, and after many debates with her male friends, she is trying out ways to convince men that feminism is also beneficial to them. Writing is her forte and she has written for and designed various publications and websites. A passionate letter-writer, she has started a ‘slow movement’ to revive writing and posting letters – The Prem Patra Project <http://prempatraproject.wordpress.com>.
Judy Balan
Judy is a compulsive theorist, dreamy single mum and a big fan of experiments. No, not the pointless, physics variety involving dropping eggs without breaking them, but life experiments. She believes in Serendipity, The Butterfly Effect and is pop-culture-crap intolerant. She is also the author of Two Fates - The Story of my Divorce and gets her kicks out of talking about herself in the third person.
Jayakumar Baradwaj
Jayakumar Baradwaj, the founder of Prastara, believes that history is not about learning about it the past, it is about learning FROM the past. He is a temple-enthusiast, historian in the making and a qualified epigraphist (i.e. you can find him trying to decipher designer Chozha inscriptions). A Carnatic musician from Kalakshetra - but there's a lot more to this man. Listen to his story at TEDxYouth@Anaikatti on December 8, in Vidya Vanam School, Anaikatti.
