This event is invite-only.

Every person lives in more than just one world. Some worlds are inhabited by millions of people; others may exist only within one person. A world can be a culture, a generation, a community, a memory, a state of mind, a way of living, a belief system, or a physical or digital space — and it can take forms we may not immediately think of. Between the Worlds explores the different realities, experiences, ideas, and systems that shape the way we understand and experience life. It can look at what makes a particular world unique and what it means to exist within or outside of it. It can also explore what happens when different worlds meet, overlap, contradict, and influence one another. Each offers a different way of looking at something people may have thought they already understood. But perhaps the most interesting and intriguing worlds are the ones we do not immediately recognise as worlds at all. Between Worlds allows us to notice what usually goes unseen or taken for granted. It makes us think in ways we may never have encountered before. Because sometimes, discovering another world begins simply by seeing what was already in front of us in a new light.

  • Arfeen Mulla

High school student with a deep interest in economics and politics

I'm a high school student who feels deeply about the issues that surround me, seeing the politics within everything, while also trying to further my understanding by not only pursuing politics and economics as school subjects, but by engaging with them critically outside of school as a member of student federations and local youth parties, hoping to have a significant role in my how my nation functions in the future

  • Cynisha Chormare

    High school student

I was born and raised in the UK and moved to Mumbai a few years ago. Now I study at a boarding school all the way in the south. That's kind of it.

  • Dhruv George-Vetoskar

High School student passionate about Law and the Environment

I am a 16 year old from India who has grown up surrounded by the beauty of nature and hence learnt its importance. I joined Kodaikanal International School for the DP program with the hope to pursue environmental law after.

  • Kamil Kirmani

Aspiring high school student interested in the art of public speaking

I'm a Kashmiri student at Kodaikanal International School, and I grew up in the Kashmir Valley during times of curfews and conflict. Living over 2,500 kilometres from home at KIS has given me a rare vantage point between different world views, and so I've learned to hold complexity and listen before judging. I'm also drawn to the outdoors, shaped by hiking in the Kashmiri mountains, and I hope to pursue engineering alongside a deep want to building bridges of understanding across differences.

  • Shalini Muttemwar

An inquisitive high school student with an interest in Leadership, Philosophy and Economics

Shalini, a former slacker turned diligent, has spent her seventeen years onfidently cracking bad jokes and waiting for an interviewer to stop her on the streets and ask her to rank her favorite desserts. In the IBDP, she has had the opportunity to tinker with her abilities and push their limits to encompass leadership roles and team sports. With an obsessively intrusive need to be a part of everything and an understanding of her mind she has amassed through dialogue, research and experience, she hopes to bring to audiences insights into the concept of neuroplasticity and an amateur guide and personal epilogue on how to escape the unconscious script.

  • Shreya Singh

High school student with a passion in International relations and Diplomacy

Hi! I’m Shreya, an IBDP-1 student at Kodaikanal International School, drawn to the questions that don’t always have straightforward answers. I’m interested in International Relations, Public Policy, and Economics, particularly how the decisions we make shape the lives of others. I’m equally fascinated by the stories people tell, which I explore through photography and videography with Kodai Media House. Through YouthRise and the Kodai Rotary Interact Club, I’ve also come to value the difference small, local actions can make. Between capturing moments, questioning perspectives, and trying new things, I’m learning that understanding the world begins with being willing to look at it differently.
