• Aadi Jhawar

  Pupil

  Aadi is a Year 11 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, with a particular passion for science and linguistics. He is fascinated by how scientific discovery helps us understand the world, and by how words across different languages shape the way we communicate with, interact with, and respect others. Beyond the classroom, he plays cricket and racquet sports, and nurtures his love of music through the piano and violin. He also follows Formula 1 and enjoys designing and racing model cars.

• Ahrin Jain

  Pupil

  Ahrin is a Year 9 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, who is passionate about journalism, writing, and public speaking. He is driven by curiosity and the desire to understand things beyond their surface: to question what seems obvious, follow unexpected ideas, and discover where they lead. He enjoys the point at which curiosity stops being a passing thought and becomes a reason to investigate something properly.

• Anthony Taylor

  Pupil

  Anthony is a sixth form pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon. He is studying the International Baccalaureate, taking Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at higher level. He hopes to study Engineering at university and was recently awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, sponsored by the Royal Air Force. He is also a keen sportsman, with a passion for rugby and rock climbing, and enjoys volunteering with his local Scout group.

• Arjun Singh Patnaik

  Pupil

  Arjun is a Year 8 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, who loves Mathematics and Science and is passionate about learning new things. Outside the classroom, he runs a school club with some of his friends. In his free time, he plays squash and cricket, and enjoys reading and the occasional video game. He is also an avid chess player and represents both the school and Surrey at chess.

• Daniel John

  Pupil

  Daniel is a year 11 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, with a particular interest in Economics, Politics, Business, and History. He is passionate about public speaking and enjoys debating, particularly around political and economic ideas. He has a strong interest in conservative political thought and hopes to pursue a career in finance and, eventually, political life. Outside the classroom, he enjoys drama and music, and has a growing interest in finance and current affairs.

• Jake Poghosyan

  Pupil

  Jake is a sixth form pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, where he studies English, Drama, Politics, and French. Driven by a strong interest in public speaking and rhetoric, he frequently competes in debating and oracy tournaments, and is delighted to be one of the hosts of the TEDx event at King's. Outside his studies, Jake represents the school in the first team for football and is a keen, if modest, chess player.

• Jasna Shah

  Pupil

  Jasna is a sixth form pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, studying Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics. Fascinated by how technology is transforming medicine, she is particularly interested in the relationship between innovation and human responsibility in healthcare. During a visit to India this summer, she had the opportunity to observe robotic surgery, an experience that challenged her assumptions about the doctor's role. Her talk explores the intersection of medicine and artificial intelligence, and how technological advances may reshape the work of doctors and surgeons in the future.

• Leo McCann

  Pupil

  Leo is a Year 11 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, who is passionate about philosophy, politics, and the delicate link between the two. He has a particular interest in theology, and is a founding member of "Big Questions and the Bible", a club which explores profound questions through a religious lens. Outside school, he enjoys rugby, football, and cricket, and is a keen supporter of AFC Wimbledon. He also loves music and travelling.

• Nicholas Bailey

  Pupil

  Nicholas is a Year 10 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon. He enjoys all his academic subjects, but is particularly passionate about History and Classics. Alongside his academic studies, he is a keen musician. He is a member of the English Schools Orchestra and principal horn in the Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra. At school, he enjoys debating, hockey, tennis, and reading club. In his free time, he likes Lego and reading books about history.

• Noah De Botton

  Pupil

  Noah is a Year 12 pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon. He is studying the International Baccalaureate, taking Philosophy, French, and Economics at higher level, and Mathematics, Physics, and Literature and Performance at standard level. He rows for King's and is also a member of the school's Combined Cadet Force, where he was recently promoted to corporal. He hopes to go to university in the United States, and has not yet decided which subject he would like to major in.

• Tharani Somanathan

  Pupil

  Tharani is a sixth form pupil at King's College School, Wimbledon, studying Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Economics at A level. With a strong interest in genetics and genomics, she has completed artificial intelligence and machine learning research projects exploring cancer detection and gene expression, as well as writing a research paper on CRISPR gene-editing technology. Beyond her academic work, Tharani has a passion for music, singing, dance, and chess, and has won more than 20 prestigious awards in the UK and internationally for her singing and other talents. Having spoken at a TEDx event at the age of 12, she is now delighted to return to TEDx in a new capacity as host of the event at King's.
