Ndokoti is not just a crossroads. It is the economic lung of Douala — chaotic, alive, and deeply human. It is where Cameroon's most raw and real stories are written every day. TEDxNdokoti was born from a simple conviction: the most powerful ideas don't come from conference rooms. They come from the street, the market, the courtroom, the workshop — from people who act before the conditions are right. Our first edition, held on February 7th, 2026, stood under the theme "At the Heart of Audacity" — a leap of faith in a place where few believed a TEDx stage belonged. It proved that Ndokoti had voices worth hearing. Edition 2 goes one step further. Because audacity alone is not enough. Under the theme "Beyond Ideas: Act to Transform", the question is now harder and more demanding — what do you actually do with an idea? How does a thought become a life, a system, a change that others can touch? On May 30th, 2026, eight speakers take the stage to answer exactly that. Not to inspire — to demonstrate. Each of them took an idea and acted on it. Each of them has a transformation to show. A woman who decided her limitations weren't where everyone said they were. A man who rebuilt his entire life in a city whose language he didn't speak. A young founder who changed a national system at 22. A priest who writes revolutionary poetry. A lawyer who walks into the places justice forgot. A builder who makes what others only imagine. A developer who said out loud what a whole generation thinks in silence. A woman who went back to the place everyone else left. Eight stories. One stage. One city that never stops moving. Organizer statement TEDxNdokoti is organized independently under license from TED. It is co-organized by Jean-Patrick Ketcha and René Nkowa, in partnership with Le Boukarou — an incubator and support structure for youth and women's entrepreneurship based in Douala since 2016

  • Claude Ndanda

    Claude Ndanda, also known as TrixX, is a Cameroonian software engineer and security researcher working at Zen Africa. He is an active contributor to the African tech community, having spoken at events including DevFest Douala, DevFest Bujumbura, and .NET Conf Douala. Alongside his engineering work, he conducts independent security research through bug bounty programs on HackerOne. His personal motto — "We break security, not hearts" — reflects his approach to building responsibly within Africa's growing tech ecosystem.

  • Father Jean-Pierre Noel Batoum

    Father Jean-Pierre Noël Batoum is a Catholic priest based in Douala, Cameroon. He founded the Robert Naoussi School of Evangelization in 2005, named after a young Cameroonian known for his radiant faith amid poverty and illness. A national coordinator within the Marienberg pilgrims' network, he has spent decades working alongside the most marginalized members of his community. In October 2025, he published his poetry collection Révolution!, exploring themes of cultural identity, inner transformation, and collective renewal in contemporary Cameroon.

  • Félicia Laureen UM

    Felicia Laureen Um is a Cameroonian Para athlete and public figure. Following the amputation of her right leg after a road accident — and a second amputation in 2024 due to infection — she became one of the first Cameroonian women to compete internationally with a prosthesis, earning two world medals in Para powerlifting and setting a personal best at the 2024 Marrakech Athletics Grand Prix. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Audit and Management, and is active as a content creator, actress, and disability rights advocate. She is an alumna of the Mandela Washington Fellowship.

  • Joëlle Victor-Ebot

    Joëlle Victor-Ebot is a Cameroonian engineer and entrepreneur. A graduate of the University of Buea, she co-founded Innovative Clan (I-Clan) in 2018 alongside four fellow students, building a digital payment platform that addressed widespread fraud in school fee collection across Cameroon. Her work has since been adopted nationally, including by official exam boards. In 2026, she received the SUFAWE Award for her pioneering role in the digitalization of Cameroon's education sector.

  • Serge Armel Ndjidjou

    Serge Armel Njidjou is a Cameroonian engineer and entrepreneur based in Dschang. He is the founder and CEO of AUI TECHNO, a company designing and manufacturing solar-powered neonatal incubators for African maternity wards lacking reliable electricity. His work focuses on building locally manufactured, reproducible medical technology that can be maintained and scaled across the continent, rather than relying on imported equipment that often fails due to lack of spare parts and infrastructure.

  • Suzanne Satrebai

    Suzanne Satrebai is a Cameroonian politician and community organizer based in Maroua. She is the youngest Regional Councilor ever elected in Cameroon's Far North region, an area significantly affected by armed conflict and economic hardship. She is the founder of African Community Engagement (ACE), an organization working on community resilience, peacebuilding, and women's rights in the region. Rather than relocate to safer parts of the country, she chose to remain and build in the Far North, dedicating her work to the communities she grew up in.
