  • Braden Zhao-Upton

Braden is a year 13 student and aspiring medic. He wishes to tell the story of the life of mortality and question what is death. Deviling into topics such as ethics, history and technology, Braden will lead us to explore the importance of questioning presumption and the 'currents' in our society that shape innovation.

  • Jason Chan

Jason is a Year 11 student whose commitment to animal care came in a moment of childhood silence, watching cruelty unfold and being powerless to stop it. That early encounter left more than sadness, making him wonder who speaks for those who have no voice. Today, he will explore the science behind suffering and its close biological connection to human pain. He will join together ethical awareness and scientific insight to give a voice to animals who cannot speak for themselves and to inspire audiences to recognise empathy as a conscious choice that shapes how society treats its most vulnerable beings.

  • Yashita Dahiya

Yashita is a Year 12 student from India with a strong interest in understanding where human experience meets science. Drawing on the personal loss of her dad, her talk explores grief not only as an emotional response but also as a biological and neurological process that reshapes the mind. This talk is an invitation to sit with complexity rather than escape it, by questioning how loss alters the mind. She brings this perspective to TEDx to challenge the silence surrounding grief and how we rethink loss and survival
