• Agustina Gomez

  Accountant

  Agustina Gómez is an accountant based in Sunchales, Argentina. She loves pasta in all its forms and enjoys two very different hobbies: baking and aerial acrobatics. Becoming a mother at the age of 14 could have changed the course of her life, but Agustina refused to let it define her future. Instead, it became part of a journey marked by determination, resilience, and the pursuit of every goal she set for herself.

• Juan Ignacio Albertengo

  Philosopher

  Juan Ignacio Albertengo is a philosopher and teacher based in Santa Fe, Argentina. Before pursuing philosophy, he earned a degree in engineering, graduating with one of the highest academic records in Argentina. Yet despite his success, he realized that his true calling lay far from engineering, leading him to begin a new journey and earn a degree in philosophy. A passionate soccer fan and a lifelong lover of gnocchi, he also happens to share a rather unusual birthday—December 25, the same day traditionally celebrated as the birth of Jesus. Behind these lighthearted details lies a powerful personal story and a message that deserves to be heard in complete silence. Today, he takes the TEDxSunchales stage to bring forward one of those conversations we can no longer afford to postpone.

  Doctor

  Julieta Pons is a physician originally from Sunchales and currently lives in Córdoba, Argentina, although she always finds an excuse to return to her hometown. She enjoys trail running in the mountains and, like any true Argentine, never says no to a good barbecue. She also has a rather unique talent: organizing closets—especially those of her friends.

• Mario Audicio

  Cattle Trader

  Mario Audicio is a cattle trader based in Sunchales, Argentina. He enjoys a good barbecue and spending time surrounded by nature. He insists he is an excellent soccer player, although his friends always put him in goal, and he also considers himself a great fisherman—even if the only fish he seems to catch is piranha. Above all, Mario is a family man. Together, his family has been the driving force behind their daughter, who has Down syndrome and went on to become a Paralympic champion. Their journey is a testament to the power of love, teamwork, and believing in what is possible.

• Matias Zurawski

  Medical oncologist

  Dr. Matías Zurawsky is a medical oncologist based in Coronda, Argentina. For more than 15 years, he has accompanied one of Argentina's most respected religious leaders, an experience that has profoundly shaped both his personal life and his medical practice. Outside the hospital, Matías enjoys gardening, spending time with his dogs, and sharing a plate of ravioli with tomato sauce—or a traditional Argentine barbecue—with family and friends.

• Selene Iribas

  Psychologist

  Selene Iribas is a psychologist who works with children and their families, helping them navigate challenges such as anxiety, disruptive behaviors, and other emotional and behavioral difficulties. She is also the mother of three boys, which means she puts the ideas she shares with families to the test every single day. Her home is her laboratory, and her perspective is shaped as much by lived experience as by professional expertise.
