• José Francisco de Almeida Pacheco

  José Francisco de Almeida Pacheco (born 1951) is a Portuguese educator who pioneered a school called Escola da Ponte (Bridge School), in Vila das Aves, Portugal. He is also a published writer, with some books and a wide range of articles. Especialist in Music and Literacy, holds a Master's degree in Science of Education by the School of Psychology and Education of the University of Porto (Universidade do Porto). Pacheco is the principal of Escola da Ponte since 1976, which was founded by him. The school has international prestige for its innovation and good inclusive practices. Pacheco is the author of several books and articles on Educational practice. 2004: In May was awarded by the President of Portugal Jorge Sampaio with the Ordem da Instrução Pública, which is one of the honorific orders of Portugal. This is the attribution of decoration to individuals personal bravery, achievement, or service to Portugal.

• João José Pedroso de Lima

  Professor Pedroso de Lima obtained a degree in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Coimbra and later a doctorate in physics from the University of Manchester. In 1986 became a professor of Biophysics, at Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra. He is also internationally recognized scientist in the areas of bioengineering and biomedicine. For over thirty years has had an active collaboration with the University of Aveiro. At the proposal of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Aveiro for excellence in teaching and scientific work that has developed in the multidisciplinary field of bioengineering.

• Julio Pedrosa

  Professor Júlio Pedrosa de Jesus was born in 1945, in Cadima (Coimbra)-Portugal, got his first licenciatura, in Physics and Chemistry, from the University of Coimbra, in 1967, where he started as a research assistant the same year. After three years serving in the Navy (1968-71) he returned to Coimbra, where he got a master in chemistry in 1973 and stayed as teaching assistant, until moving to the new University of Aveiro, in 1974, just after it was created. Having obtained his PhD in Chemistry at University College, Cardiff, UK, Professor Pedrosa is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro since 1988 and his main research interests have focused on bioinorganic and materials chemistry. Vice-rector of the University in the period 1987-92 he was elected Rector in 1994. Re-elected in 1998, he interrupted this activity in July 2001, to be Ministry of Education of Portugal until April 2002. Professor Pedrosa maintains a strong interest in university evaluation, organization and management, being currently associated with CIPES, the Centre for Higher Education Policies, in Matosinhos, Portugal and a CHER member. Julio Pedrosa is currently chairing a committee in charge of developing a Programme on Public Policies and Administration at the University of Aveiro.

• Rita Tavares

  Rita Tavares has a degree in Basic Education from the University of Aveiro, having taught in Public Schools from 2006 to 2010. Throughout her career as a teacher, she has been using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as a way to motivate and stimulate learning process of her students. She is currently Manager of the Education Unit of I.Zone Interactive Media SA, developing projects for Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) and Research, Development & Technology (RD&T), in areas such Affective Computing, Augmented Reality and Multiplayer Environments (virtual worlds for children from 6 to 12 years old). In this context, also develops integration strategies and effective use of ICT by education agents in school context.
