We experience the world through different frames, mental, cultural, social and institutional structures that shape how reality appears to us. These frames are formed by our upbringing, education, media consumption, belief systems and experiences. Often invisible, they guide our interpretations, influence our judgments and determine what we consider normal, possible or true. Over time, these frames become so familiar that we mistake them for reality itself. Beyond the Frame is an invitation to pause and question these inherited ways of seeing. This theme challenges us to recognize that the world we perceive is not objective or fixed, but filtered through perspectives that are shaped by context and constraint. It asks us to reflect on the assumptions we have absorbed without examination, the narratives we have accepted without interrogation and the systems we participate in without fully understanding their origins or implications. By bringing these frames into awareness, the theme encourages a deeper engagement with how meaning is constructed and how it can be reconstructed.
