• Bonnie Nagel

  Dr. Nagel’s work focuses on creating more targeted mental health identification, intervention, and prevention efforts, through identifying biopsychosocial indicators of mental health problems in youth. Her Developmental Brain Imaging Laboratory conducts neuroimaging studies of Portland area youth to identify indicators of risk to disorders such as depression and addiction. Dr. Nagel’s work aims to create more targeted mental health intervention and prevention practices. She received her Ph.D from the University of Memphis.

• Grace Crunican

  Grace Crunican is a transportation specialist with experience working as general manager of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) district, as well as Oregon Department of Transportation, Seattle Department of Transportation, and the Federal Transit Administration. She was the first female director of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). She is currently involved with the Interstate Bridge Replacement Program. She received her MBA from Willamette University

• Kelly Reavis

  Dr. Reavis’s research focuses on risk factors for auditory injuries among veterans and the elderly, working to deeply understand the effects of hearing loss, and associations between exposures in the military and hearing before and after service. Her background as an audiologist, epidemiologist, and public health professional inform her research which seeks to understand the impact of viral and chronic diseases on hearing health. She received her Ph.D in Epidemiology from Oregon Health and Science University.

• Liz Flannery

  Liz Flannery serves as the Portland Metro Forensic Laboratory Director for the Oregon State Police, and has experience as a leader in the forensic field, in research, and the criminal justice field. As director, Flannery leads in the analysis of evidence used in Oregon’s criminal justice system. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Biological Sciences from the University of San Diego.

• Melissa Haeffner

  Her research unifies several research domains that contribute to the knowledge of local politics in watersheds and how they shape urban water infrastructure development in the past, in the present, and under future predictions. Her ongoing research and teaching commitments investigate water insecurity and justice within municipal water systems and the links between multi-scale policies, infrastructural and environmental conditions, and household behavior. Dr. Haeffner's work focuses on “just water” and how social, political, and biophysical factors structure access to water, using the concept of environmental justice to draw attention to issues of fairness and equality in the ways different social groups gain access to natural resources. Dr. Haeffner received her PhD from Colorado State University (CSU) in the Graduate Degree Program of Ecology, with a specialization in human-environment interactions.

• Tamily Weissman-Unni

  Dr. Weissman-Unni’s research focuses on neural circuitry, and its impact on behavior. She combines two approaches to research using “Brainbow” technology and zebrafish to view and further understand how neural circuits form and their impact. Dr. Weissman-Unni’s research aims to understand how the brain controls behavior, and impacts of this process going wrong in human disorders. She received her Ph.D from Columbia University.
