We live in an age of infinite information, yet silence has never been louder. This theme is not about recounting life stories, but about uncovering the subtleties the world has silenced, the truths we no longer acknowledge, the facts that no longer seem real and the perspectives losing shape in the overwhelming mainstream. Conflicts vanish from awareness, voices are muted, and struggles are dismissed. The Uyghur genocide, the violence in Congo, the ethnic cleansing in Darfur. Women in Afghanistan stripped of dignity and education. Farmers in India, drowning in debt. These stories exist everywhere, yet they are faded out by louder narratives. This silence is not just global, it is generational. As time goes on every coming generation inherits a world shaped by the choices, traumas, and contradictions of those before them. Born of wars, displacement, systemic discrimination, and cultural erasure this silence echoes in all our lives, unspoken yet deeply felt. While it was earlier normalized, it is the need of the hour to confront this silence, to question traditions, institutions, and the paradox of progress that coexists with oppression. This silence can be personal too. Existing in the struggles of those living with mental health challenges, chronic pain, neurodivergence and disabilities that society overlooks simply because they do not fit into the categories we have drawn. The measure of progress is not how loud we are, but whose voices we choose to carry forward.
