As systems become faster, smarter, and more automated, an important question remains: where do humans still belong? Human in the Loop explores the role of human judgment, empathy, responsibility, and creativity in a world increasingly shaped by technology and optimized systems. Through ideas from engineering, education, healthcare, design, and society, TEDxSRIT invites perspectives that reflect on how keeping people meaningfully involved leads to more thoughtful, ethical, and resilient outcomes. Rather than asking what systems can do on their own, this theme asks what becomes possible when humans remain an essential part of the process.

    I am a cardiac surgeon by training, currently practicing and also working at the intersection of medicine, mental health, and education. Alongside my clinical work, I have pursued formal training in mental health counselling and psychology, and I lead an emotional wellness initiative focused on listening-based support for students and young professionals. My work brings together high-pressure medical decision-making, human behavior, and practical mental health skill-building.

She holds a PhD in Cybersecurity and certifications including CISSP and Microsoft AI Product Manager — technical depth that lets her ask the right enterprise-grade security, and operational reliability. Her broader mission is to be the helping hand that takes startups from zero to billion-dollar value. questions, earn engineering's trust, and make security trade-offs that hold up.

    Dr. Santosh Karthikeyan Viswanathan is a distinguished Data and AI Leader with extensive global expertise in IT and clinical operations. He has successfully led large-scale data teams, established capability hubs and developed AI-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, improve product quality and reduce costs. A mentor, author and technology advisor, he inspires young talent and helps organizations harness the transformative potential of data and AI.
