Every society, every individual, and every community is shaped by stories, but too often these stories are told from only one angle. Histories get simplified, people get stereotyped, and experiences are flattened into single, incomplete narratives. “Flip the Narrative” is about turning these assumptions upside down and daring to see the world differently. It challenges us to take what has been dismissed as weakness, such as failure, silence, or difference, and reframe it as strength, resilience, and power. This theme is a call to courage, the courage to defy the roles we have been assigned, to reclaim ownership of our stories, and to amplify perspectives that have long been ignored. Flipping the narrative does not erase the past. Instead, it expands it by giving space for hidden truths and overlooked voices. Speakers might share how a failure became a turning point, how stereotypes were dismantled, or how entire communities redefined themselves against limiting labels. At its heart, this theme is about transformation, proving that when we flip the narrative, we not only change the story but also open the door to new futures.
