At our international school—home to a vibrant, diverse community of students from around the world—we believe that the future is shaped by the ideas, courage, and curiosity of young people. This year’s TEDx event, “Shaping Tomorrow: Voices of Youth, Stories of Change,” gives our students the platform to share the insights and experiences that are already influencing the world around them. Our speakers will explore a powerful range of topics that matter deeply to today’s youth. From developing transferable skills for a rapidly changing world to finding purpose and identity in a global society, their talks highlight the challenges and opportunities young people face. Students will share personal stories of resilience, growth, and transformation, offering perspectives shaped by their multicultural backgrounds. Talks will also address the importance of youth engagement in diplomacy and global decision-making—emphasizing the role of young voices in building a peaceful and sustainable future. Other themes include the value of Theory of Knowledge (TOK) in shaping critical thinking, the power of having a clear standpoint, building confidence, and navigating immigration and adaptation. Together, these ideas reflect what it means to be a young global citizen today. Join us as our students take the stage, inspire dialogue, and share the stories and ideas that will help shape tomorrow.

  • Bedilu (Beau) Ababa McGuinness

    Student

    I’m Bedilu (Beau) Ababa McGuinness, a 16 year old student at Eerde International Boarding School enrolled on Pre-IB2 programme. I come from a multicultural background, growing up, being born, and ancestry, all on different continents.

  • Elisabeth Hoekstra

    My name is Lisa, and I am currently an IB student. I moved countries when I was little and had to find things I enjoyed doing outside of school, that is when I started doing a bunch of different hobbies that I learned to love.

  • Ezra Jensen

    I am Ezra Jensen, an American living in a boarding school in the Netherlands. I am a social leftist who lives in Fort Myers; I live in an environment surrounded by people who share political views opposite to mine, and because of this, I discuss political matters about my nation often.

  • Ganna Kurbanova

    Student

    I am a 17-year-old student originally from Moscow, now studying in the Netherlands. I grew up in a highly achievement-oriented academic environment and experienced firsthand how larger social and political systems shape everyday life. These experiences sparked my interest in identity, space, and the subtle forces that influence who we become.

  • Imogen Hollis

    Student

    I am a 17 year old high school student, interested in how the world works, and what we can do to change it. I have lived in multiple countries and been to a variety of schools, including many international ones, giving me a mixed cultural background and good understanding of how people connect.
