Empower(ed) is the central call of TEDxHUS 2025 to the young generation, those coming of age in a world defined by perpetual transformation, where the boundaries between the old and the new are constantly redefined. This generation stands at the forefront of sustainable development, embodying the potential to become genuine game-changers who shape a more equitable and compassionate society. Yet, to lead, inspire, or empower others, one must first embark on the journey of becoming empowered - a process that requires humility to learn, courage to step beyond comfort, and initiative to embrace opportunity. “Empower(ed)” represents a two-way progression in which society places trust and offers opportunities to the youth, while they actively awaken and cultivate their own capabilities. Empowerment is not an act of granting authority, but a process of revealing and liberating the intrinsic strength that already resides within each individual. When trust is nurtured within one person, it can be transferred to others, forming a continuum of shared confidence and purpose. In this sense, empowerment becomes a living current, sustained by knowledge, responsibility, and the collective aspiration to progress.
