• Alveena Usman Khalid

  Student

  Alveena Usman Khalid, a year 11 student about to stroll into A levels and someone who is eager to dive into the world of architecture one day. She wants people to see that creativity isn't something that requires striking ideas, but rather to notice, to reinterpret, and to really take action. As someone who has done art since she was a child, she strives to explain the reasons why humanity lacks the creative knowledge needed through personal experience.

• Geqinran Li

  Student

  Geqinran Li is a Year 9 student in SES. She relishes the exhilaration of exploring new topics and delving into unfamiliar contents. She is deeply engaged with the fascinating science principles underlying daily phenomena. In her talk ‘Decoding Decoding’, she interprets the miraculous neuroscience behind dreams, the phenomenon that invariably occurs during our sleep.

• Helena Castillo Redondo

  Student

  Helena Castillo Redondo is a Junior at Sharjah English School, studying Music, Literature, and Drama for her A-Levels. She has a strong passion for performing arts and activism, hoping to pursue musical theatre professionally in the future. In addition to this, her interests lie in pop culture and its societal involvement. Formally considering herself faint-hearted, Helena’s newfound love for all things horror, alongside her aforementioned passion for societal impact, has encouraged her to explore the inner workings of the relationship between horror and our society.

• Judy Saleh

  Student

  Judy Saleh is currently a year 11 student at Sharjah English School. Career-wise her interests currently lie in STEM, but she has a great appreciation for the humanities. With the topic of her speech being one she had been personally curious about, as a very opinionated person herself; using TEDx as an opportunity and platform to discuss and explore it on a wider scale.

• Lauren Collins

  Head of Drama and Head of Falcon House - Sharjah English School.

  Lauren is a teacher, Head of Drama, and pastoral leader who uses theatre and the arts to explore what it means to be human. With a strong belief in pastoral care and human connection, their work challenges schools to slow down, look up from screens, and reconnect with the people in front of us.

• Lma Zayat

  Student

  Lma Zayat is an aspiring engineer with a passion for mathematics, physics, and chemistry. She is driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the science behind how the world works.

• Maya Crane

  Student

  Maya is a Year 10 student who proudly embraces her passions, from music to superheroes. After noticing how often people hide what they love to fit in, she became fascinated by why authenticity and caring are often undervalued in present times. In her TEDx Talk, Maya uses superheroes as a lens to explore why being passionate and true to yourself is the ultimate superpower.

• Mina Zhong

  Student

  Mina is a Year 10 student currently studying at Sharjah English School. She's extremely interested in all topics science related and hopes to do a degree in Chemistry in the future. Outside of her academic interests, she finds psychology and philosophy engaging, especially in the areas of consciousness and self-identity.

• Muhammed Abrar

  Student

  Muhammed Abrar is a student, speaker, and aspiring leader with a deep interest in personal growth and human behaviour. Having studied in multiple schools over the years, he has learned to embrace discomfort as a catalyst for confidence, resilience, and growth. Passionate about leadership, public speaking, and meaningful conversations, Abrar seeks to encourage young people to step beyond familiarity in pursuit of growth.

• Nila Kamal

  Student

  Nila Kamal, an A-level student, is an aspiring neurosurgeon with a passion for clinical research, particularly in cancer and neuroscience. She is a speaker, an actress, a singer, a researcher and a leader. Nila is also leading the GCSE Tutoring program at SES. She explores how generational trauma could be passed on through DNA, a speech on a new and upcoming science topic, epigenetic inheritance.

• Nour Meinecke

  Student

  Nour is a year 10 student at SES. Her career interests include politics and history. She loves sports like swimming and running, and in her free time she enjoys reading and listening to music from artists like arctic monkeys. She’s thrilled to be doing tedx, as this is her first time public speaking on topics she’s very passionate about. She was heavily inspired by the British cycling team and as an athlete herself, can relate to them.

• Tanisha Prashanth

  Tanisha Prashanth is a Year 12 A-Level student at SES who believes that failure isn’t something to fear, but something to learn from. Having struggled with comparison and self-doubt herself, she speaks honestly about what it feels like to fall behind, feel different, and question one's own path. Through her talk, she shares why we were never designed to be the same, and how learning to accept that can change how we see ourselves and others.

• Yash Biju Nambiar

  Student

  Yash Nambiar is a junior at Sharjah English School, and an aspiring Chemical Engineer with a profound passion for energy generation, hoping to apply his knowledge and passion to solve the world’s energy crisis.

• Zoha Qazi

  Student

  Zoha Qazi is a sophomore at Sharjah English School and currently serves as House Captain, where she leads student-driven initiatives focused on inclusion and community impact. With a strong interest in economics and physics, she is fascinated by how abstract theory translates into real-world systems, from markets and incentives to risk-driven decision-making. Passionate about finance and leadership, Zoha is driven by the belief that understanding how systems work is the first step to changing them. She hopes to build a career in finance focused on how economic systems shape real-world decisions.
