It's time for Perspective: Focusing the lens and expanding the frame - NA’s annual TEDxNewark Academy* event! Under the year’s theme of “Perspective,” we have an array of student speakers talking about everything from scuba diving, quantum chess, and the edges of the universe. We hope anyone from the NA community and beyond will come out to be inspired by our wonderful students on May 7th at 7pm. Tickets are free, and refreshments will be served! *TEDxNewarkAcademy is a student-led organization at NA focused on bringing out the inner public speakers in our community, including, but not limited to, our students and faculty! Speakers commit to a 5 month process of workshopping TED Talks with personalized coaches, building everything from engaging visuals to developing a stronger stage presence. All are welcome to submit an application in the upcoming cycle, early fall of 2026, whether you are an Upper-School student, MS student, faculty member or teacher!

  • Aryan Grover

    Aryan enjoys playing tennis and is part of the varsity tennis team. Aryan also loves learning about space and has cofounded the Astronomy Club to share this passion.

  • Daniel Alland

    Daniel Alland is an entrepreneur currently in his Junior year at Newark Academy. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, running, and designing ideas either for fun or as ideas for his next business. Daniel is also a leader in the Outdoors Club and a member of the student AI committee at NA. Daniel values understanding a wide range of ideas and understands that innovation involves making connections between people and between concepts. In his TedX talk, Daniel shares one technique he uses to gain understanding when making these connections.

  • Gia Wanchoo

    Gia Wanchoo is a sophomore at Newark Academy. She is a certified scuba diver, a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo, and she loves playing volleyball. Outside of this, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and photography. Doing things that feel meaningful and create lasting memories are the most appealing to her. She believes the best way to enjoy life is to spend time doing what you love.

  • Surya Raghavan

    Surya, a sophomore at Newark Academy, is passionate about many areas of STEM, with math at the heart of everything he does, alongside a deep interest in physics and computer science. As a competitive math student, he has participated in numerous national and international math tournaments, continuously pushing himself at the highest level. He is deeply committed to giving back, whether through volunteering as a math tutor with the OneInMath Program, raising funds for homeless youth, or brightening lives through Color A Smile. Outside of academics, he performs with the New Jersey Youth Symphony's Youth Orchestra and competes on NA's Varsity Swim team. Surya is excited to bring his passion for math and emerging technology to his TEDx talk, where he will explore how embracing uncertainty can help us all thrive in the upcoming quantum era.

  • Trishna Inampudi

    Trishna Inampudi is a current sophomore at Newark Academy. She is a current Vice President of the South Asian Student Union and serves as a section editor for the school newspaper, where she enjoys writing about the arts both in and outside of the NA community. She also has a strong passion for service, volunteering and organizing community events. In her talk, she reflects on how learning to inconvenience ourselves for others can shift our perspectives and deepen our understanding of those around us.
