This year’s theme, “Eyes Wide Open,” invites us to pause, to analyze carefully, and to perceive authentically the reality that surrounds us. In a context where information circulates at an unprecedented speed and appearances can often be misleading, we believe it is essential to maintain our critical thinking, curiosity, and level of awareness. Through this theme, TEDxYouth@AvenorCollege encourages the exploration of new ideas, the questioning of existing assumptions, and the discovery of innovative perspectives on our own identity and the world we live in. By keeping our eyes wide open, we take the first step toward developing empathy, stimulating creativity, and generating transformation—because authentic change begins the moment we choose to truly see.

  • Diana Bulimar

    Olympic gymnast

    Diana Bulimar is a European Champion and Olympic medalist in artistic gymnastics, recognized as one of Romania’s outstanding athletes. Following her successful competitive career, she now dedicates her experience and passion to coaching young gymnasts, working alongside gymnastics legend Nadia Comăneci.

  • Domnica Margescu & Maurice Munteanu

    Fashion Duo

    Domnica Mărgescu and Maurice Munteanu are two of the most influential figures in Romania’s fashion industry. With over 20 years of experience in fashion and editorial work, Domnica Mărgescu serves as Acting Fashion Director at ELLE Romania. Maurice Munteanu is a key pillar of the fashion scene, known for his work at ELLE Romania and for his role as a judge on the television show “Bravo, ai stil!”.

  • Dorin Boabes

    Entrepreneur

    With over 25 years of experience in personal development and leadership, he is a certified trainer in the Process Communication Model, holding certifications from the Neuromindfulness Institute and the NeuroLeadership Institute. He is also the co-founder of the podcasts Mind Arhitect and Rețeaua.

  • Gelu Duminică

    Romanian Sociologist

    PhD in sociology. Executive Director of the "Împreună" Community Development Agency Foundation. Has 17 years of experience in the social inclusion of underrepresented groups and social European politics.

  • Lisandru Neamtu

    Painter

    Lisandru Neamțu is a painter and university lecturer at the National University of Arts in Bucharest. He regularly participates in national and international art exhibitions and actively contributes to the promotion of contemporary visual art through exhibition projects and cultural collaborations.

  • Mircea Toma

    Romanian Journalist

    Mircea Toma is a journalist and human rights activist, as well as a member of Romania’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA). He is the founder and former president of ActiveWatch and a strong advocate for media ethics, freedom of expression, and the fight against discrimination.

  • Roxana Chirtoiu

    Public policy advisor at the European Parliament

    Roxana Chirțoiu is a public policy advisor at the European Parliament and a leading voice in climate action and youth leadership. As Head of Climate Programs, she coordinated the largest climate event in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2025, she was selected among the 50 global young leaders invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos, was included in Forbes 30 Under 30, and served as Romania’s Youth Delegate to the Council of Europe.
