  • Ana Senger Moreno

    Student

    Ana, a Spanish-American senior at the Inter-Community School in Zurich, grew up both avid reader and writer from childhood. With a passion for language and international politics, she intends to pursue Political Science and International Relations throughout University and beyond. In her TED talk, ‘Complexity is Not Our Enemy’, she addresses the current rise of anti-intellectual attitudes in society and its impacts on critical thinking and interaction with societal and political discourse.

    Inza van den Heuvel is a Dutch student at Inter-Community School Zurich with strong interests in theatre, critical thinking, and creative and academic writing. For future studies, Inza plans to pursue liberal arts, as she is very passionate about politics and human rights. In her TED talk, Why You Shouldn't Waste Your Time on Efficiency, Inza explores how the pursuit of efficiency erodes meaning in our surroundings, our society, and ourselves, with a focus on psychological and cultural impacts. She hopes her talk inspires and provokes change.

From creating a custom trail camera to building a comprehensive species database, Lucas explores how engineering, field observation, and data can deepen our understanding of biodiversity. Driven by curiosity and an open mindset, he focuses on designing sustainable solutions for real-world environmental challenges. In his TED talk, he reimagines what the zoos of the future could look like, and what that transformation could mean for both people and animals.

  • Marko Chomich

    Marko Chomich is an IB Diploma student from Serbia with academic interests centred on cognitive science and human behaviour. His presentation explores predictive processing and Bayesian inference in the human brain, with a focus on how perception, error, and uncertainty shape cognition. His TED talk draws on a very contemporary brain theory to challenge intuitive assumptions about accuracy, control, and how reliably we experience reality.

  • Sofia Homem de Montes

    Sofia is a Swiss student in the International Baccalaureate system at Inter-Community School Zurich with a strong interest in International Relations and global inequality. Passionate about gender inequality and will address this through a strictly quantitative lens. In her talk, Sofia presents statistical data highlighting persistent gender disparities worldwide and within Switzerland, including gaps in pay, variations in violence against women, and illiteracy rates. Aware of the privilege that access to quality education represents, she aims to use her academic path to support women who are denied educational opportunities, advocating for dialogue in sustainable solutions to gender inequality.

  • Sofiya Kiselevich

    Sofiya Kiselevich is a student at Inter-Community School Zurich who moved there from Moscow, Russia, at the age of 15. She is very passionate about many diverse subjects, including maths, literature and various fields of the arts such as fashion, music, theatre, film, and writing. Through her TED talk, The Child Within, she explores the true value of childhood and the delicate human individuality, while presenting her own story and addressing the audience to embrace their identity.

  • Thomas Massimiliano Di Domenico

    Thomas Di Domenico is an IB Diploma candidate with academic interests spanning history, political theory, and philosophy. His work examines the fragility of liberal democratic systems, with particular focus on Weimar Germany, the moralisation of politics, and the ways contemporary Western democracies risk repeating historical patterns of institutional and cultural decay. His TED talk draws on historical case studies and political thought to challenge complacent assumptions about democratic stability.
