• Alexis Swao

  Alexis stands firm in her belief that perfectionism overshadows genuine interest and authenticity. Through her experiences - and possibly many others - she has realized how easily people chase achievement instead of fulfilment. Her talk expresses her passion as she explores that balance, reminding others that genuine passion is what sustains effort, fuels growth, and gives meaning to everything we do.

  Amita is a high school student at Woodcreek School. She has a deep passion for Science, engineerimg and research. Amita challenges us to bridge the gap between time-tested practical education and the fast-evolving, technology-driven classrooms of today.

• Angela Wachira

  My name is Angela Mumbi, a 16-year-old student at Brookhouse School Runda with a curiosity for how science and art connect. I love exploring ideas that challenge the way people think, especially when I can bring my debate skills and leadership into the mix. Psychology fascinates me because it blends both the science of the brain with the art of understanding people. Whether I’m analysing behaviour, debating a complex idea, or finding creative ways to connect concepts, I’m driven by curiosity, creativity, and the belief that a good argument can open minds and spark real understanding.

• Daniel Muhinga

  Daniel Ngonyoku is a dedicated student of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, driven by a desire to understand the world through deeper, more precise lenses. His academic journey is grounded in curiosity, whether he is analysing the motion of particles, solving complex mathematical problems, or exploring the structures that govern chemical reactions. Daniel is constantly seeking the patterns hidden beneath the surface. Beyond academics, Daniel is a passionate saxophonist whose music allows him to express what words often cannot. He is also an avid chess player, valuing the discipline, strategy, and patience the game demands. These pursuits shape the way he approaches life: thoughtfully, creatively, and with intention. Daniel strives to “observe through another lens” to challenge assumptions, question the familiar, and search for meaning in unexpected places.

• Daniel Waswa

  Daniel Waswa is a passionate young environmental storyteller from Kenya and the founder of Rooted in Change, a digital platform that combines podcasts,blogs and visual storytelling to spotlight youth-driven climate solutions. His work explores how culture,creativity and community can shape a more sustainable future, sharing stories grounded in local wisdom and everyday heroes. Through his storytelling, Daniel champions African youth voices and inspires collective action by reminding audiences that meaningful environmental change begins at the community level. He believes that the narratives we choose today ultimately shape the world we leave for future generations.

• Debrah Ngonyo

  Debrah is a young African girl committed to Pan-Africanism and the unity of the continent. Inspired by Africa’s rich heritage, she aims to help reconnect Africans with their history and strengthen the spirit of solidarity across nations. Through her voice and work, she focuses on empowering her generation to take pride in their identity and shape a united African future.

• Eden Atto

  Eden Atto fell in love with sports from a young age keeping the world around her active.From swimming to basketball she puts herself out there to challenge herself. When she's not shooting hoops and diving in, she dives deeper into a new world. The world of media, that allows her to challenge her mind and spark her creativity; she hunts for new perspectives on the mundane and explores how our thoughts can make a positive impact on the world around us. She encourages us to think of education keenly and remember that no matter the background we come from. Privileged or underprivileged every dream matters and every future can be held just as long as we believe in our goals and work towards them.

• Ella Atieno

  Ella Tina Atieno is a bright and thoughtful 14-year-old student currently in Year Nine at Makini Cambridge School. She is a young woman whose depth, warmth, and emotional intelligence shine through everything she does. Her speech, “The Silence Between Smiles,” reflects her remarkable ability to see beyond the surface and understand the quiet, unspoken feelings people often hide behind their smiles.

• Jasmine Njuhigu

  Jasmine, a 17-year-old Year 12 student at Brookhouse Runda, and someone who’s learning, every day, what it means to grow. She was once told that even at 17, I’m still 16, and 12, and 7, and 1, and that idea has shaped how I see myself: a work in progress, constantly unfolding. Yes, I dream of becoming many things: the scientist, the distinguished oncologist, the writer, the astrophysicist. But for now, I’m embracing every version of me as I learn, stumble, soften, and rise. Today, whichever version of me steps onto this stage, I hope she reminds you that growth isn’t a destination but a collection of selves we learn to welcome home.

• Jason Maina

  Jason is a driven 14-year-old Year 10 student and student leader with a strong commitment to environmental and mental health advocacy. He serves as a mental health ambassador and actively participates in Model United Nations, where he develops his leadership and diplomacy skills. Outside the classroom, Jason enjoys sports like football and rugby, reflecting his energetic and well-rounded personality. With his passion for positive change and natural leadership, Jason is a young changemaker to watch.

• Justin Kombe

  Justin Kombe is a Student at Oshwal Academy, a speaker and a Footballer. He is very keen on leadership. He is also deeply passionate about humanity and global issues, and he uses his voice to inspire change everywhere

• Lia Ounda

  Lia Amanda Ounda is 15 years old. She is deeply passionate about humanitarianism and international law & relations. This love was developed from her experience of being a child of diplomats. This is why she is exploring the broad theme of cultural heritage in her talk, and how diverse it may be for everyone. In a modern world where identities constantly evolve, cultural heritage can take many forms and belong to everyone in different ways.

• Makena Kuria

  Makena Wawira Kuria is a 16-year-old student at Premier Academy with a deep passion for public speaking. She strongly believes that young people, when given the opportunity, can become powerful agents of change. This conviction was evident in her inspiring TEDx talk, where she explored how growing up within two cultural backgrounds has shaped her identity. Makena chose the theme of culture and identity because she felt it was a relatable experience for many. Her goal was to encourage individuals from multicultural families to embrace every aspect of their heritage and recognize how these diverse influences make them unique. Beyond her love for public speaking, Makena is committed to giving back to her community. She founded an initiative called “Tumaini La Kesho” (Hope for Tomorrow), which focuses on supporting children in Nairobi by providing essential tools to make their lives easier. Through volunteering and donations to local children’s homes.

• Mugi Kabuta

  Mugi Kabuta is 16 years old. He's a student at St St Austins School and a stern advocate for global reach. His recent experience with an exchange program in 2024 gave him an eye-opening outlook towards the importance of education efforts and believing that people should not only seek within and remain comfortable with the spaces inside, but also reach out and gain the curiosity that can change the spaces around them.

• Natashe and Natalie Mutie

  Natasha & Natalie are 16-year-old pianists whose musical journey began at the age of 8, when she first discovered the expressive power of the piano. Since then, they have cultivated a deep passion for performance, creativity, and artistic storytelling, developing a style that is both thoughtful and captivatingly evocative.

• Nathaniel Koome

  Nathaniel Koome is a dynamic student at Brookhouse School Runda, where his insatiable curiosity fuels a vibrant exploration of art, music, physics, and history fields that ignite his passion for uncovering the universe's hidden rhythms and narratives. A lifelong learner who devours new ideas with fervour, Nathaniel dreams of amplifying the silenced voices of our world, igniting global awareness on the shadows that plague us, and honing the skills to drive tangible change. For him, true fulfilment lies not in accolades, but in the indelible impact he leaves on humanity's shared story.

• Nyakara Morara

  Nyakara Morara is a 15-year-old Year 11 student with a passion for photography, astronomy, and baking. She has always been interested in the themes of neo-colonialism, loss of identity, and the erosion of African culture, which is why she chose her topic to shed light on these often overlooked subjects. She believes that everyone should be proud of their diverse heritage, as this is the greatest form of cultural reclamation and authenticity.

• Rishika Ragu

  Rishika Ragu is a Year 12 student at Premier Academy, a passionate dancer and an enthusiastic learner of Biology. Her dedication to the classical art of Bharatanatyam has instilled in her values of discipline and creativity—qualities that resonate deeply in her public speaking. In her TEDx talk, Rishika explores the intersection of music and medicine, emphasizing how meaningful learning can extend beyond the classroom. Her perspective reflects the evolution of modern education, where creativity and innovation converge to blend art, science, and technology in shaping how we learn and express ourselves today. Looking ahead, Rishika aspires to pursue a career in medicine, driven by her curiosity and commitment to making a difference.

  Ruby Loren Kendi Mugambi is a 16-year-old student at Oshwal Academy with a strong passion for public speaking and inspiring others through her words. From an early age, she dreamed of giving a TEDx talk—a goal she practiced for with dedication and held close to her heart. Today, that dream has become a reality. Ruby considers this moment a God-given blessing and hopes her journey encourages others to believe in themselves, speak with confidence, and pursue their dreams with faith and determination.

  Ryan is an outgoing individual who seeks to bring out the best in himself and those around him. His passion for STEM is boundless; fascinated by how everything works, Ryan dreams of changing the world through science and innovation.   Seyan Hirani is an 18 year old wildlife photographer born in Kenya, the only home he's ever known. Having spent a huge amount of his childhood in the African bush, he inevitably fell under its irresistible spell.

  Stella Kimathi, a radiant force at Brookhouse Runda School, embodies the celestial alchemy of her namesake, a Latin whisper for "star," forged in the crucible of nuclear fusion where light nuclei collide under immense pressure to birth unyielding brilliance. Like the collapsing clouds of gas and dust that cradle nascent stars, Stella navigates the turbulent veils of doubt and missteps, her path occasionally obscured yet propelled by an unquenchable drive to harness every facet of her being. In this epic, protracted genesis, not instant, but arduous- she transforms setbacks into stellar fuel, emerging to illuminate the cosmos of possibility. Stella's journey reminds us: true luminosity demands not perfection, but the bold fusion of resilience and reinvention.

• Trinity Kamugisha

  Trinity Kamugisha is a yearly 12 student that passionately explores the themes of identity,culture and belonging in an increasingly interconnected world. Through storytelling and reflection,she highlights the power of connection in bridging diverse communities and perspectives. She focuses on how living between cultures can create understanding and unity across differences. Trinity further breaks down the ways in which people can connect different countries and cultures.

• Vanessa Mwangi

  Vanessa is in Year 12 at Brookhouse School. She loves playing the violin. Her sister, Alisa accompanies on the piano in their performance of "The Goodness of God".

  Zawadi Teyie, a 17-year-old student who is dedicated to several activities. She aspires to study environmental science and contribute to solutions that protect our planet. She enjoys debating, reading, playing basketball and grounding her journey in her strong faith.
