TEDxURI is looking to explore some of the different meanings of “funny” as part of its 2026 event. This year’s theme is “Now That’s Funny,” and organizers are accepting audition videos for those who can challenge our perception of what funny means. TEDxURI 2026 will be held Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. in Edwards Hall on the University of Rhode Island's Kingston campus. We are looking for people who think outside the box and can tell a story that doesn’t necessarily have a punch line. It could be a story about an awkward moment or a funny story about something ironic, like a television news reporter who doesn’t like to be on camera. To apply to be a presenter, submit a three-minute video audition previewing your story and fill out an application form at the link below. For audition tips, guidelines, and more information, please visit https://www.uri.edu/tedx/auditions/. You can also learn more on our LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/tedxuri/posts/?feedView=all) and Instagram pages.
