• Alexander Matey

  Alexander Matey is a Year 2 IB student at Salem International College. After realizing how many opportunities and memories he was missing by overthinking social interactions in the past, Alex dedicated himself to the art of the "cold open." A passionate believer in the power of a simple "Hi!", and a welcoming smile, he explores how intentional kindness can bridge the gap between isolation and community.

• Amelia Obermayer

  Currently completing her final year of the IB diploma program at Salem International College, Amelia Obermayer stands at the threshold of an uncertain future—and she too is slightly afraid of it. Driven by the pressures of a changing global landscape, she explores the intersection of education and adaptability, seeking to redefine how her generation views the "unknown."

• Antonia Werner

  Antonia Werner is a Year 2 IB student at Salem International College with a deep interest in social justice and international relations. After being moved by stories of refugees and activists who risk everything for basic rights, she has focused her work on how students in elite educational environments can pivot from passive "privilege" to active global citizenship.

• Julia Kupchik

  Julia Kupchik is a Year 1 IB student at Salem International College with a strong curiosity for the "why" behind the "what." Despite the modern push toward purely utilitarian career paths, Julia remains a staunch advocate for the classical humanities, believing that a world without philosophy is a world without a moral compass.

• Tim Evers

  Tim Evers is a music teacher, house tutor, and orchestra conductor at Salem International College. When he isn't directing ensembles or mentoring students, he is a keen observer of how technology reshapes the human brain. As an educator and a smartphone user himself, he is passionate about finding "analog" pockets of silence in an increasingly loud digital world.

  A Year 1 IB student at Salem International College, Tim von Lackum is immersed in an educational system designed to foster character and leadership. He is fascinated by the intersection of institutional history and modern activism, focusing on how the principles of his schooling apply to global movements like climate justice.
