TEDxBangladesh Maritime University is the first-ever TEDx event at BMU, bringing together students and the wider community for a day of ideas and inspiration. The inaugural conference will be held November 22, 2025 at Shaheed Moazzem Hall (Mirpur-14, Dhaka). As an independently organised TEDx event, it embodies the TED mission of “ideas worth spreading” part of a global movement with nearly 15,000 TEDx events held worldwide since 2009. TEDxBangladesh Maritime University’s program is built to spark innovation and positive change on campus: speakers will share practical insights on entrepreneurship, science, the arts and more, all aimed at pushing boundaries and overcoming challenges. This spirit of creativity-in-adversity is well-documented – research notes that even in crisis “flashes of invention and creativity” emerge as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. By highlighting stories of individuals who thrived despite setbacks, TEDxBangladesh Maritime University’s Pulse of Possibility theme will motivate attendees to turn their own challenges into opportunities.
The theme “Pulse of Possibility” celebrates resilience and the power of ideas to drive progress. Speakers will explore how setbacks can become springboards – how “pressure is a great motivator for innovation” and how constraints can spark creativity. Talks may include lessons from environmental science, technology, art and social entrepreneurship, all illustrating that difficult circumstances often trigger resourcefulness. By focusing on success stories and breakthroughs, the event aims to cultivate a community mindset that thrives despite challenges. Attendees will leave energized by practical strategies and inspiring examples of individuals who innovated in the face of adversity.
TEDxBangladesh Maritime University 2025 is designed as a community event for students, academics and the public. Attendees can expect a full schedule of five-minute talks, along with networking breaks. While details on registration or ticketing are forthcoming, interested participants are encouraged to watch the official Facebook page and TED page for updates. This event promises to be a one-day festival of big ideas, where the latest thinking and personal stories converge to ignite ambition and drive positive change in and around Bangladesh Maritime University.
