TEDxBISHCMC Youth

A lens can focus, distort, magnify or reveal. It can sharpen detail or soften edges. In photography, the lens determines what we see and what remains just outside the frame, yet it is always the human behind the camera who chooses the decisive moment, capturing and sharing their interpretation of a place, a person or a story. In life, our lens is shaped by experience, by culture, gender, belief, challenge, identity and the stories we inherit or choose to question. This year’s TEDxBISHCMC Youth invites us to look again. Under the theme “Through Another Lens”, our speakers challenge us to reconsider the familiar and to explore perspectives that may sit just beyond our own field of vision. They remind us that empathy begins when we are willing to shift focus, to adjust the aperture, to zoom out, to step closer, or to view the same reality from a different angle.
