The Exceptionals

The theme idea "The Exceptionals" stems directly from observations of the context we live in. Humanity is moving through the first quarter of the 21st century in a volatile world. If one had to name a common characteristic among the trends taking place, it could only be "exceptional". This is because extraordinary, unprecedented things are happening across all sectors, from technology, media, and the economy to society. The concept of "The Exceptionals" is also a tribute and an encouragement to Gen Z—a generation that we consider to be "an exceptional generation". Gen Z enters the world from a very different starting point than previous generations; they were born into greater material prosperity but also into spiritual chaos. Gen Z can sometimes be "fragile" under peer pressure, but they can also be "bold" and decisive, unafraid to express their individuality and point of views. Gen Z is often called the "unserious" generation, but that can also be seen as their way of facing and "normalizing" all the difficulties in life, allowing them to overcome them lightly. With a strong conviction that the Gen Z will be "the game-changer"—that they will be the factor creating positive change for the world in the next 10 or 20 years—TEDx Thang Long University 2025 conference aims to equip Gen Z with lessons and tools from leading experts across various industries and fields. At the same time, it seeks to boost the motivation and self-belief of each individual—that they can do everything they want and build the world they desire.
