We are inviting proposals for TEDx talks of 10-12 minutes in duration. Talks should focus on ideas that map to Hult Ashridge’s mission of ‘creating a movement of change through learning that lasts’, and focus on topics relating to leadership, strategy and change. Talks related to 'burning' topics in industry and academia are preferred, such as Al, analytics, sustainability, innovation, resilience, change & transformation, upskilling, collaboration, workplace diversity, futurist trends, or other relevant subjects. Priority will be given to contributions that are grounded in rigorous research or real-world best practice, and which include actionable insights for business leaders. Talks will be delivered in person to an audience of approximately 100 delegates and filmed by a professional AV company. Post-event, talks will be edited and uploaded onto the TEDx platform, where they will be publicly available. At this point, speakers will be able to share their talks with their network. The Hult Ashridge and Hult International Business School marketing teams will also support wider, global promotion. Faculty from any campus are welcome to submit a proposal. Please note, that we are unable to cover travel to Ashridge or accommodation costs. Support for Speakers If your application is successful, we will provide support to help you prepare to deliver a high quality TEDx talk. This will take the form of a group, on-line workshop, followed by one-to-one coaching, delivered by an external consultancy with expertise in this area. We will also provide written resources, including suggested reading and top tips. Crafting a compelling TEDx talk and preparing to deliver it is a significant commitment. Taking part in the speaker support program is a requirement for those speaking at the event. How to apply Faculty should draft a written proposal of no more than 1,000 words, which should include: • The title of your proposed talk • Brief overview of your idea, including the focus of your talk, your point of view, and the take-away/call to action for the audience • A short biography • An explanation of what makes you uniquely placed to deliver this talk • Your social media links In addition, we are asking prospective speakers to share a three-minute maximum video clip which summarizes their talk and the takeaway message. Note: this does not need to demonstrate high quality production values – a self-filmed video taken on your phone is fine. The written proposal should be saved as a PDF or Word document, and the video clip as an MP4 or similar format. Proposals and video clips should be sent via email to: faculty.office.manager@ashridge.hult.edu Some key questions to consider before you submit your proposal: • Is your idea new? If it’s not entirely new, then ‘why now’? • Is it interesting to a broad audience? • Is it interesting to the primary Hult Ashridge audience of business leaders? • Is your take-away or call to action practical and realistic? • Does your suggested talk adhere to the TEDx speaker guidelines?
