In an era where change is no longer episodic but constant, TEDxYouth@SVIS presents a space for reflection, reinvention and response. Shifting Sands is not just a metaphor, it's a known reality. From transitioning to an adult, to seeing your personal identity fade quietly, we are all, in some way, standing on a ground that refuses to stay still and is ever-changing. The event is born from the understanding that young people today are not just inheritors of a world stuck in a flux, they are also its architects; people who can turn the very fluctuating changes into endless opportunities. Shifting Sands, as a theme, exposes the audience to hear speakers from diverse backgrounds talk about what happens in the in-betweens of their world - the fragile, disoriented, mutating parts of their lives. It is in these spaces that we learn to take control of our lives and endure what we can't control. It suggests that instead of wasting energy fighting against what is inevitable, one should focus on what is within their control and cultivate inner strength to navigate through difficult circumstances. TEDxYouth@SVIS is not just providing a stage for declarations, it is creating a space for the audience to understand and inculcate positive aspects of change. Each person faces a point in their life where they have to choose between moving forward or holding back from exploring the untrodden paths. Individuals who decided to defy the latter are the ones that revolutionised the way the world works. So basically, it's not the end of the story when everything around you starts to change. It's a new beginning to something which can be your very own turning point. Even when the sands continue to shift, we must remain firm and hold our ground.

  • Aditya Raj Kaul

    Senior Executive Editor, TV9 Network

    With over 16 years in journalism, Mr Aditya Raj Kaul currently leads editorial strategy at TV9 Network, focusing on National Security, Strategic Affairs, and Corporate coverage. He has reported from global conflict zones including Iraq, Israel, Siachen, and Kashmir, and is regarded as a leading expert on Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan. Mr Aditya has organized five NEWS9 Global Summits (2022–25), featuring leaders like PM Narendra Modi and former UK PM David Cameron. His career spans Network 18, CBC (as Foreign Correspondent), and 20+ journalism awards, including the 2023 Ram Jethmalani Prize. An ACYPL (US State Dept) and Bucerius Fellow, he has covered major global summits and interviewed key world leaders.

At TEDxYouth@SVIS, he joins the stage not with certainty, but with the courage to spark conversations; ones that challenge expectations and open space for new ideas. Aryaman reminds us that change isn’t just about creating something new, but about stepping into uncertainty, asking better questions, and daring to dream beyond the obvious.

  • Pinky Maheshwari

    Founder of SurpriseSomeone

    Ms. Pinky Maheshwari is the founder of Surprise Someone, a sustainable venture that transforms waste cotton into eco-friendly paper. Her mission to spread smiles sustainably has gained widespread recognition, with a growing community of 15,000+ followers on Instagram. Ms Maheshwari has represented India at the EURASIA International Event in Russia and was invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan, where she met Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu and Ms. Sudha Murthy. A Goldman Sachs scholar at IIM Bangalore, she has mentored over 5,000 young changemakers working toward a greener, more responsible future.

    Associate Professor, Delhi University

    Ms Sangeeta Relan is an Associate Professor at Delhi University with over 30 years of experience teaching Finance, Economics, and related fields. She has held leadership roles, contributing to curriculum development, and has guided students in academics and research. Currently pursuing a PhD in Corporate Governance and Gender Diversity at the Delhi School of Economics, she runs AboutHer Women, a platform championing women’s empowerment through an e-magazine and podcast. Recognised for her social impact by the Delhi Management Association, Ms Relan is also a published writer with 65+ short stories and an upcoming book. She moderates literary events, and serves on the editorial board of a digital mental health platform.
