Col Virendra Kumar Sahi VrC
Retd. Colonel from Indian Army and Vir Chakra Recepient
Col (Retd) Virendra Kumar Sahi, Vir Chakra awardee, is a shining example of The Art of Possibility-a man who turned the unimaginable into victory through sheer courage and unwavering resolve. During the 1971 Indo-Pak war in the Chhamb sector, he led his troops under heavy enemy fire. When his weapon jammed in the heat of battle, he fearlessly charged forward, engaging in brutal hand-to-hand combat and eliminating a Pakistani Major, saving his post and turning the tide. His act of raw bravery, clarity under pressure, and deep sense of honor earned him one of India's highest gallantry awards. Remarkably, he later documented the enemy soldier's bravery with respect-proving that even amidst war, /humanity endures. Post-retirement, Col Sahi continues to serve the veteran community with the same dedication. His story is not only about battlefield heroism but about resilience, leadership, and the limitless power of human spirit in the face of adversity.
