  • Barron Peper

Barron Peper is a licensed architect, speaker, and community-builder based in Missoula, Montana. His practice, Architecture of Belonging, helps people design homes and neighborhoods that reflect their values, support meaningful relationships, and foster a deep sense of place. With over a decade of experience in residential and community-focused design, Barron’s work bridges architecture with culture change. He believes that buildings do more than just shelter us—they shape our habits, our relationships, and the ways we move through the world. His design process begins with personal values and long-term vision, aligning clients’ physical environments with the lives they actually want to live. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Barron went on to win design awards for his early work. But over time, his passion shifted toward something deeper: how design could interrupt loneliness, make parenting easier, and restore the fabric of community one block at a time. Today, his projects range from backyard ADUs to co-housing communities, each one rooted in what he calls “life design” as much as architecture. His writing and public speaking continue to reach new audiences, encouraging people to think differently about where—and how—they live. At the core of Barron’s work is a simple belief: we are better together. His mission is to design places that make togetherness not only possible, but likely. Through her book Beyond Bikini Medicine and powerful speaking engagements, she provides women with the precise language to use with doctors, the most revealing tests to request, and the confidence to insist their symptoms matter. Her message resonates because it combines shocking data with actionable strategies that transform patient-doctor conversations. Board-certified in both conventional and integrative medicine, Dr. Patel has been consistently recognized as a Top Doc by Phoenix Magazine and honored as Internist of the Year by the American College of Physicians. • Meggin Tallman

Meggin Tallman is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to tackling pediatric obesity in rural Alabama. Drawing from her early career as a nurse volunteering in developing countries, Meggin has always been driven by a mission to serve vulnerable populations and address healthcare disparities. After a few years of noticing great need for care and inspired by the American Academy of Pediatrics’ first-ever Pediatric Obesity Practice Guidelines released in 2023, Meggin established a pediatric obesity clinic within the small pediatrician’s office where she practices. Her clinic is one of only two in the state of Alabama focused on applying these guidelines to support children struggling with obesity and its related comorbidities. Recognizing that pediatric obesity is a catalyst for numerous health challenges that diminish both the quality and length of children’s lives, Meggin took the guidelines and put them into action. She developed a team, a compliance system, and an individualized approach that meets families where they are—financially, socially, and educationally. Her innovative model emphasizes education and empowerment, aiming to redirect families toward healthier futures with compassion and understanding. At TEDx Wilson Park, Meggin will share her journey of building this clinic from the ground up, the challenges and triumphs of working with rural families, and the transformative power of personalized healthcare. Her talk will explore how meeting families where they are can change the trajectory of not only a child’s but a whole family’s health. When not at work, Meggin enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. They enjoy traveling, singing, reading, and engaging in the community as a family. She encourages her own children just as she does those she cares for in clinic, that while many things around you will change in life, your worth doesn’t.
