• Dana Nastase

  Dana is an enthusiastic mediatech professional with a diverse background, passionate about leadership, technology and the future of journalism. Over the past 8 years, Dana and her colleagues from a Leuven based scale-up have been working with newspaper companies in Europe and the US to build together the future of news. Previously she worked at global organizations on digital transformation projects and new product introductions. Her academic journey brought her from Romania to Germany and Belgium and helped her gain valuable insights into international cultures and perspectives.

• Dokus Mertens

  As an entrepreneurial team player with a talent for diplomatic negotiations, Dokus likes to build, lead and inspire performing teams and make them excel in changing environments. He is the CEO at Siemens Healthineers BeLux with a background in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. His passion for next-gen MedTech and business excellence drives him to shape the future of healthcare together with a great team of Healthineers.

• Felix Cock

  Felix is an experienced process engineer and KU Leuven alumni with a demonstrated history of working in the chemical industry. Nowadays Felix is busy with development to reduce the carbon footprint in the industry through the supply of low carbon and renewable industrial gasses, like hydrogen!

• Maaike Vandermosten

  Maaike Vandermosten received in 2012 her PhD in Educational Sciences & Psychology from KU Leuven, after which she did a postdoc in neuroscience in collaboration with the University of San Francisco, Maastricht University, Université de Genève and KU Leuven. She first gained expertise in designing psychophysical auditory and speech experiments, followed by expertise in diffusion MRI tractography. This technique allowed her to investigate as one of the first white matter connections in persons with dyslexia. At the start of her tenure track, she continued her research on dyslexia, but also established a new research line on stroke-induced aphasia, including projects on the prediction and neuroplasticity in aphasia from the acute to the chronic stage. In her recent projects, natural speech takes a central role, as this allows to gain rich and ecologically-valid information on language processing in difficult-to-test populations such very young children and persons with aphasia.

• Stijn Ilsen

  Stijn Ilsen is a Senior Satellite Engineer currently working at Redwire Space. He has also joined other TEDx events, such as TEDx UHasselt to share his ideas! As a space engineer, he always pushes the boundaries of what is possible. To achieve what is seemingly impossible.
