• Bruce Taylor

  I am currently teaching secondary Humanities at Discovery College in Hong Kong. Prior to arriving in Hong Kong, I taught Economics and Humanities outside of Chicago, Illinois. During my previous post I started The Youth Labor Committee (www.ylcnet.org), a student led anti-sweatshop and worker rights organization. We worked closely with groups including The Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, Labour Behind The Label, and Sweat-free Communities to help spread awareness of global labor issues. Our work focused on labor exploitation within multinational corporations, primarily within the developing world and saw the launch of a major campaign against factories in Jordan resulting in the arrest of the senior management for labor abuses. I hold degrees in both Economics and Astronomy from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign and I have studied and taught about issues surrounding globalization, international finance and foreign policy issues throughout my career.

• Tracey Read

  Tracey Read has spent the last 6 years on a plastic pollution journey. She has involved the community in beach cleanup programs, been a guest speaker in schools, sailed through the Great Pacific Garbage Patch on a research expedition and most recently co-ordinated the cleanup of the world’s largest known plastic pellet spill which occurred in Hong Kong.

• Tra My Hickin

  I’m born in Hanoi, to a Vietnamese mother and an English father, and on the third year of my birth I was burdened with a brother. I am a raving rabid Beatles fan, but l quite fancy the sounds of the strokes and the arctic monkeys as well, not to mention several hundred other artists. I love art, and I like looking at how others choose to express themselves, especially their identity.

• Gary Stokes

  Gary Stokes is a Hong Kong based ocean conservationist / photographer. Whether he’s working as an independent photojournalist or with The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Gary has been spent the past 15 years raising awareness to the plight of our oceans.
