Andrzej Gwizdalski
Blockchain expert
Dr Andrzej Gwizdalski is an established Web3 ecosystem architect in Western Australia and the Southeast Asia region. Steering the Western Australia WEB3 Association as Co-Founder and Chairman, he leads initiatives like the International WAWEB3 Conference, the Black Swan Summit Australia and the Quantum Internet Summit, advancing the adoption emerging technologies for building a resilient and sustainable digital economy. As an award-winning university lecturer and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Andrzej has created Master-level blockchain units at the Business School of the University of Western Australia, advocating Web3 innovation. His research on digital Web3 technologies addresses issues of economic and financial inclusion, social diversity, human-centred technology policies and ethical governance.
Jessica Kretzmann
Jessica is a researcher and university lecturer working in nanotechnology, based at The University of Western Australia. Jessica studies how tiny structures made from DNA can be designed to carry genes or medicines into cells in a safe and controlled way. Her research combines chemistry, biology, and engineering, with the aim to support the development of more targeted medical treatments with practical benefits for health and society.
Jingbo Wang
Jingbo is the founding director of the Research Centre for Quantum Information, Simulation and Algorithms at The University of Western Australia. She fosters collaboration and entrepreneurship to develop quantum solutions for complex intractable problems. An influential leader in the quantum ecosystem, she holds key roles at Quantum Australia and the ARC Training Centre for Future Leaders in Quantum Computing. She also champions STEM diversity as Co-Director of Quantum Girls, inspiring young women toward quantum careers.
Lauren and Isaac from Scitech
For more than 35 years, Scitech has led the way in science engagement in Western Australia. Whether it's taking workshops and shows to schools and events in regional and remote communities across the state, supporting teachers and students through programs and skill development, or creating and building international exhibitions, communicating science is at the heart of everything the organisation does. The Scitech Discovery Centre allows visitors to engage their hands and minds through interactive exhibits that motivate learning and challenge thinking.
Philipp Bayer
Philipp works at the intersection of biology and machine learning, building and applying complex algorithms to find the biology in petabytes of data. At Minderoo's OceanOmics Division he worked on establishing trust in fish sightings derived from marine environmental DNA. Originally hailing from Germany, Philipp has a PhD from the University of Queensland, was a computational biologist in the OceanOmics division of the Minderoo Foundation and is now a Technical Lead in Bioinformatics with PYC Therapeutics.
Tracy Redhead
Dr Tracy Redhead is an artist, researcher and educator at the University of Western Australia Conservatorium of Music. Her work merges art and science in music, using technology to create dynamic works shaped by data. As a singer-songwriter, she has released three albums and various singles. In 2016, she received the Music Bricks Incubation Award. Her work has been featured in WIRED and documentaries, and her book Interactive Technologies and Music Making: Transmutable Music explores new approaches to composition.
