Imagine a quiet and calm pool of water – it normally would never be associated with power. And yet, something powerful is about to happen; a movement. But it starts quite small—with just one drop. A drop can create a ripple. And we believe that just a single drop, a single man or woman, a single leader, can cause a ripple so great and powerful, that the whole world can be altered for good. Like a ripple itself, the influence a single person can have creates hope and change across the entire globe, revolutionizing it in the process. All this –change, influence, revolution– happens because of one single ripple. The theme of TEDXZahiraCollege wishes to spark an actionable understanding on how small acts can create a big impact. The theme touches on how understanding can lift your spirits and break down your thought barriers. These talks will raise the bar and force you to let go of judgement. With this year’s theme ‘The ripple effect of revolution’ we want to inspire, to trigger a calling, step by step, action by action, what once seemed a far-off dream is now a real possibility. Together, Sri Lanka will rise to meet the most progressive thought-leaders, while slowing down our pace to share in the present moment.
