The greatest school in life is life itself. Life’s most important questions pertain to the purpose of our existence and our beliefs. While formal education is limited by a specific time frame, life itself provides endless opportunities and experiences. Maximum benefit is ...reaped when you successfully establish a link between your formal education and what you do in life. The question therefore is how would you re-imagine education? Education leaders and the press have a lot to say on what needs to be "fixed" within the school systems-paying teachers based on how their students perform, better use of technology, smaller classes, more money- but what do you think?   • Robyn Clark

    A passionate maths teacher in a country where those skills are in desperate short supply, Robyn Clark teaches at a school for formerly disadvantaged children and is carving out a niche for herself as an expert on the use of mobile technology and social media in the classroom. Robyn has spoken at teachers conferences about her innovative approach to teaching using cellphones as learning tools

  • Waahida Mbatha

    Waahida is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Khulula Foundation, a public charity, that seeks to develop the next generation of change-agents from low-income communities in South Africa by providing them with a transformative university preparatory education within their community. To carry out its mission, the Khulula Foundation is working to establish an independent, university preparatory grade R-12 school in the Alexandra Township. Prior to establishing the foundation, Waahida worked as middle grades English Teacher and After-School Programme Manager in Washington, DC. Waahida holds a BA in Middle Grades Education from Berea College and a MS in Cultural Foundations of Education with an emphasis on Urban Communities and Education. Waahida enjoys spending time discussing social issues with her partner and loves singing with her son

  • Karen Walstra

    Karen has been awarded her Masters in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, in Educational Technology. She is an Education, Training Development Assessor and Moderator. Attended Harvard Graduate School of Education, Principal's Center's summer course "Improving Schools: the Art of Leadership", July 2007. Taught "Information Technology' and Design and Technology since 1995. Currently Director of Academics at St Stithians College Johannesburg.
