Being in a calm steady state is required for success in school and in life. Speakers from diverse disciplines will come together to reshape education with special focus on self-regulation. From mindful awareness practices to fitness, exercise, and nutrition, the need and benefits of self-regulation will be explored. Moreover, the use of technology with its concurrent regulatory benefits and challenges will also be explored. The face of education is shifting and this forum will bring the greatest local minds together to boost it even further! In true TED style, we will interact and explore a new frontier in education.

  • Venreable Tenzin Yignyen

    Ven. Tenzin Yignyen was ordained as a monk by his Holiness the fourteenth Dalai Lama. He received the highest degree, Master of Sutra and Tantra from Namgyal Monastery in Dharmsala, India in 1969. Tenzin has taught and constructed mandalas in many places in the United States, including the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles. He is currently a visiting professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, serving as Professor of Tibetan Buddhist studies since 1998.

    Dr. Charlotte Reznick has dedicated her life to helping children, adolescents, parents, and professionals. She is a child educational psychologist, an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology at UCLA, and author of the LA Times bestselling book, "The Power of Your Child's Imagination: How to Transform Stress and Anxiety into Joy and Success"(Perigee/Penguin). In addition to her private practice, she creates therapeutic relaxation CDs for children, teens and parents, and teaches workshops internationally on the healing power of children's imagination.
