TEDxHisarSchool's theme is “Metamorphosis”, a nod to Franz Kafka’s masterpiece. In Kafka’s novel, Gregor Samsa wakes up one morning and discovers that in he had been transformed into a monstrous verminous bug. This metamorphosis forces him to face reality and struggle with questions about his existence. We go through numerous changes and transformations everyday. But how did transform from hunter-forager tribes to a world ruled by a social caste system and bureaucratic structures? Did we, like Gregor, wake up one morning and discover ourselves to be transformed? Or did a string of right and wrong decisions, a series of smart and uncalculated actions lead us to the situation we are in today? As the TEDx team, we want to not only question how we got here, but we also aim to begin a conversation about where we can go from here on.
