A collection of short talks on psychiatry, technology, and conversation - organized by high school students! In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxBrownellTalbotSchool, prerecorded TED talks and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.   • Carrie Rise

    Teacher, Brownell-Talbot

    Mrs. Rise has taught at Brownell-Talbot for all 26 years of her career. When she started at BT, she wanted to make a difference with students that had a desire to learn and were excited about school. In her classroom, she holds high the ability to solve problems. Some of her fondest memories are of students who worked harder than they thought they could and in the end found the solution they were looking for. Most recently, Mrs. Rise has helped institute the use of 3D printing technology in the classroom.

  • Cynthia Paul

    Forensic Psychiatrist, Heartland Family Services

    Cynthia Paul is a forensic psychiatrist who practices in the Omaha area. She currently practices with Heartland Family services, and is one of very few practicing forensic psychiatrists in the state of Nebraska. Her job description includes the delicate task of assessing whether accused criminals are in a mental state to stand trial.

  • Stuart Chittenden

    Brand Consultancy Partner, UK Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development

    Previously a UK lawyer practicing for years at major international legal practice, I am a partner at the brand consultancy, david day associates, where I consult on brand strategy with clients local and national. Through a carefully designed process of guided exploration, I help organizations understand why they exist, what their purpose is and how they should express that. As well as studying law, I earned a Masters accreditation in Organizational Learning and Development. I am a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. Recent community involvement includes being a Big Brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters and serving on the Omaha Public Library Board of Trustees.

Organizing team
