In the late Middle Age – as today – lands and goods were owned by few and conquered through war. Their power and richness drove the many to return to simplicity; one of the first and strongest example in history was St. Francis. His rule, founded on brotherhood and simplicity, is still alive today in some phenomenons: sharing economy, peer to peer, open source, purchasing groups, internet of things. Are we going to have our Renaissance after the current pioneers of simple thinking?
