• Jin Hui (Seyrence) Lee

  Seyrence Lee Jin Hui (pronounced say-ren-sss) is a Year 11 student currently studying for his O’ level examinations at Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB. Although an introvert by heart, he wants to use the form of speech to motivate others to stand up and be different from others. Discovering TED while searching for podcasts a few years ago, he has been an avid supporter of TED ever since then. His ambitions are to become a professional mobile software engineer and perhaps, to talk about it at another TED event in the future.

• Ruby Lim

  Ruby Lim is a 17 year old student currently undertaking her A Levels at the Sixth Form Center, Maktab Duli, Gadong. Her subjects include Business Studies, Economics, Maths and EAS. She is a member of the Debate, Drama, Netball and Basketball clubs. She seeks to maintain a balance between sports and academic studies. With the subjects that she has chosen, she hopes that she can further study Economics or International Relations in the UK. She is a born and bred Bruneian debater that has participated in two cycles of the National Junior Level Debate Competition; and she hopes to compete in the National Senior Level Debate Competition.

• Sidharth Raj

  Sidharth Raj is a 13 year old boy, who was born in southern India, in the state of Kerala, but brought up and nurtured entirely in Brunei, the abode of peace. He had his primary education in Panaga and is currently pursuing secondary education in Jerudong International School in Year 9. Currently he lives with family in Kuala Belait. He describes himself as social, fun-loving and inclusive. He is a boy with dreams that reach the stars, and those dreams are about doing his best to make the world a better place to live in, by joining the medical profession. He has a particular talent in making people laugh, which he believes will be useful in bringing a smile to this much too serious, and worried modern world. In fact, he is an active member of the Bruhaha club which is a Bruneian community that promotes stand-up comedy among Brunei residents.

• Hee Sang Hong

  Hee Sang Hong (Like ‘pisang’ with an ‘H’) is a 17 years old Korean student who is currently studying for her ‘A’ levels in Brunei Darussalam. TED, TEDx, and TED-Ed, all three of them have been her most loved channel in YouTube after encountering them by chance few years ago. Becoming a TED speaker, or at least speaking in front of a crowd about what she has in her mind, has been always on her bucket list. In the future she hopes to become a leading forensic pathologist and perhaps, talk on the TED stage again about her profession.

• Eric Ngu

  Ngu Chee Hong, often simply called Eric by his friends, is currently studying at ISB for his IB Diploma, having spent his whole Primary and Secondary school life in CHMS,BSB. He has been an active student, joining events such as the Borneo Global Issues Conference, the Chung Hwa Model United Nations, and various other events as a representative for both ISB and CHMS. An aspiring teenager with hopes of one day being able to take part in changing the world for the better, he is constantly pursuing new challenges to further improve his abilities and also to learn new things.

• Ak Syafii Naim

  Ak.Naim is currently studying in PTEM and is the President of the Student Counsel 2014/2015. He represented his school at the National Debate Competition and Brunei for the International Debate Competition in KL. He actively participates in volunteering progammes such as the Beach Bunch beach clean-up. Recently he participated in the ISB program under BGIC. His goal is to be able to make a difference in the society with the knowledge and experience that he has acquired throughout his exposure to various environments and people he met.

• Osama Tariq

  He is Osama Bin Tariq and he is 16 years old. He is also very tall and chubby. He is from Pakistan and studies in Brunei in Chung Hwa Middle School. He is staying in Brunei for 5 years already. He is in Year 11 doing his O level. He loves to wear navy blue t-shirts and jeans. He is a very good at debating. He loves to read as his hobby. He also loves to play video games and play sports like cricket and football. Finally, he also loves to join many extracurricular activities in his school.

• Brandon Chin

  Brandon Chin is currently a student at Maktab Duli PMAMB doing his second year of A levels. Ever since a young age, Brandon has always been a dreamer. His desires to inspire others and make a change in the world have always existed since the beginning. However, he understands that reality has a knack of throwing people of course, and he was one of them. His passion of speaking is not one he has always had, and a youth in our community, he seeks to change the mindsets of those around him through his words.
