Bio
As a writer and brand strategist at INNOCEAN USA, my primary interest is understanding human behavior from an evolutionary perspective and applying lessons from behavioral economics, neuroscience, and psychology to create more effective stories. I believe in approaching the audience as “humans” not consumers, and I strive tell stories that tap into human insights gleaned from the latest in science literature. Recently, Dr. Paul Zak and I have conducted studies to measure storytelling at the level of the brain. Specifically, we’ve focused on one neurotransmitter called oxytocin. One of our recent studies re-ranked the top 10 Super Bowl commercials based on physiological response from viewers and found no correlation between conscious rankings and unconscious response.
