Joah Spearman

Joah Spearman is the founder & CEO of TenYour, a venture-backed startup helping middle class professionals mitigate the threats of job instability while paving the way for financial stability. He was inspired to create TenYour after watching his mother become the first person in family history to become a homeowner and build generational wealth. Previously, Joah was founder and CEO of Localeur, a global community of locals who helped more than 7 million travelers experience local and partnered with Nike, Match.com, JetBlue and Lyft. Joah is one of the only Black tech founders in history to raise $5 million for a startup without institutional VC. Joah was named one of the Top 10 Black Innovators of 2014 by MVMT 50 ("Movement 50"), Emerging Business Leader of the Year by the Greater Austin Black Chamber in 2013, and was a five-time finalist for Austin’s Under 40 Awards. He is also the co-author of Real Role Models: Successful African Americans Beyond Pop Culture (Univ. of Texas Press). Before Localeur, Spearman founded the first-ever fashion segments of SXSW and ESPN X Games, and earlier served as a strategic communications adviser to companies and government agencies ranging from FedEx to FEMA.
